You will send one partner a journal in which you have written the prompts.
You can write your own prompts or do a search for Journal prompts on the web for some ideas.
web site
Your partner will write in the journal and will keep the journal.

Now you have some choices.
You can purchase a “Journal” or make your journal.
If you purchase a journal add some personal touches to it. Give it some character. A hard cover with no character and plain paper pages are “boring”.

The picture above is just a few of the journals I have made in the past. If you want to make a journal there are many things you can use. The large journal above is one I made from an old photo album, the red one is made from a spiral notebook that I added a cloth cover, the round one is made from coffee filters and scrap paper, and the square one is made from paper sacks that were sewn together. Do a search for paper sack albums. web site ...scroll to bottom of page.
I’ve also made journals from old hard back books. And old calendars where I’ve stapled several together.

Size: Your finished journal will need to be 5” x 7” or larger. With a minimum of 30 pages and 30 prompts. (That means 15 sheets of paper.) You can have more pages and prompts if you so desire.
You can put some of the prompts on tags in which your partner can write on.

Ideas for inside the Journal: Add fold outs, pockets, windows, a spinner, game/activity pages, pop ups. etc.
Decorate with yarns, buttons, glitter, drawings, quality stickers, deco tape etc.

This should be fun for you to make and for your partner to receive and fill in. Send quality work that you are proud of.

To join the swap you must have:
10 or more #3 swaps. (crafts & packages)
A rating of 4.9 or higher.
No 1’s or 3’s in the last 12 months.
A fully filled in profile.

Get started NOW…. And have LOTS of fun…

Please mail out by the deadline and rate your partner.

If you have swaps that you have not sent out and are past the deadline, please do not join this swap. Journal swaps can be time consuming and take dedicated people.

Any questions, you can click on (contact) where it says swap coordinator or leave a message in comments. I reserved the right to ban……

In regard to a question I received... You are sending "one" journal.. that you will write the prompts in, when that journal is completed it will be mailed to your partner. Your partner will write the responses to the prompts and keeps the journal.

In regard to a question I received... A minimum of 30 pages..
(If you hold a piece of paper in your hand, it has a front and back, so 15 pieces of paper will make 30 "pages"...

In regard to a question I received... How do I know what types of swaps are a #3.... Answer..
Each swap you sign up for will have listed Type:...Scroll up and you will see it on this swap. This is a #3 swap..

Type 1: Electronic - internet-based swaps, email, messages, links, digital photography, etc. Type 2: Flat mail - postcards, letters, mail swaps with little, to no, craft component. Type 3: Crafts & Packages - any time-intensive craft swaps, any swaps sent in packages, most swaps will fall in this category.

If you are not sure of the swaps you have completed.. You will need to bring each swap up and check the type..

Another great question.

If I were really picky and asked for a plainish journal, would anyone be really offended?

snowqueen1426 04/25/2010 #

In Regard to a question received... Yes.. you may hand write your prompts,, or type them out.. Or have some of both...

snowqueen1426 04/25/2010 #

@The Caffeinated Stamper I would say just get together with your partner. It may depend on whether a person already has the journal started as to whether changes can be made. I personally would be happy to make a "plainish journal"... Great question..thanks.
