A 70s Swatch Swap (& a tongue twister!)

Let's swap 70s swatches!

What do you do with all the off-cuts of fabric, once you've finished your project? Well, probably save them for smaller projects like pincushions, needlebooks, buttons – maybe even a spot of patchwork? I know few of us waste the smaller off-cuts, but wouldn't it be nice to have some different fabrics to choose from, as well as your own?

So for this swap, you will send each partner 10 different 70s fabric swatches:

• Include 10 different fabrics (alternate colourways of the same design are okay, though). Fabrics may be vintage/thrifted, reproduction 70s designs, or contemporary designs that are 70s-inspired.
• Each swatch should measure a minimum of 4” x 4” (approx. 10cm x 10cm).
• If you wish, you can bind the swatches into booklet for your partner to flip through, but this is also optional. If you bind your swatches, make sure that the useable portion of the swatch meets the minimum size requirement.
• You don't need to 'finish' the edges, but you can if you like.
• And just because I had fun naming this swap, include a note for your partner, with a tongue twister (e.g. Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled pepper...)!

There is a quick turn-around time for this swap, as it should not be too time-intensive to put your swatches together.

You will have 3 partners, so you will make 3 separate sets of 10 swatches (1 set for each partner) and receive 3 sets of swatches in return.
