Description:

Purchase or re-thrift a 5"x7" framed glass for pictures.

Create or copy your own design on the glass inside the frame.

These look spectacular at night with a small voltive candle behind them on an end table or coffee table at night.

Michaels' carries a load of liquid glass in small bottles in an array of colors. Once you have your supplies this really is a fairly simple, fun artsy craft.

You can pull up images to copy all over the internet or use one of your own. Heck, if you're really good, wing it!

Wrap securely with bubble wrap for shipping.

Keeping this USA only due to shipping costs.

Officers please feel free to swipe this swap for your region.

  • purchase or thrift a picture frame size 5"x7"
  • Design an image on the glass for your partner.
  • wrap securely in bubble wrap
  • USA only
  • Newbs welcome

IF you are thrifting a used picture frame, please repaint or stress the frame to make it look wonderful. LONG time sign up, SHORT send. This is NOT a profile specific swap. So you can get started right away.

Please don't forget to use the faux lead. It comes in black, grey & white. This holds the colors from running together.

Have a blast Ladies!

All the rules apply. No late sends. non raters reported, no recent 1's-3's or anything that is profile funky.

I did this a while back on a window in a house we rented, and it looked amazing!

I did it on our bathroom window and I just love it.

I don't get this bit. Probably I'm being thick! ;>) How do you get the candle to show light throught the backing of the frame or do you just leave the glass in with no backing? If so how do you make the glass stay in place? And how do you make it stand-keep it from falling over if there is no backing to pull out like with a photograph frame? I've done some glass painting before and I love it. I would really like if someone did an international version of this provided I can get my head around it! LOL

Glass in no backing. Frame with stand. The type that sits on a shelf. Set the voltive candle behind the color glass. :)

This swap can be a hanging type frame or stand frame. One sits on a shelf, one can hang in a window.

Since there is so little interest in this swap, it won't be swiped for other regions at this time. sorry

RyeRye~ I'm so excited about this swap, so please don't cancel it!!! I don't care if there are just a few (or two) people participating... I have some fun ideas :-)

My only question is: Is there a standard as to the size of the frame or the material in which the frame is made?

Thanks so much for creating this swap. I'm really looking forward to creating a piece of art for my partner <3

OK, you win! lol Now I am excited about it again.

5x7 size is good but if you prefer a diff size, you won't be renalized rate wise for it. Frame material can be anything you'd like. Keep weight/postage in mind.

IF you can find the plexiglass insert instead of glass, that is also ok. Thaks for keeping me posted on this!!

I ALMOST deleted it this afternoon.

I was having issues with how I was going to make the frame stand up without the backing arm, but I found some cute little "holders" at DollarTree ((Don't judge me, people. I'm an addict.). They are like little metal easels with very short legs, and will work perfectly for this project. Just a thought, swap sisters :-)

I just googled 5 x 7 stained glass patterns and got some great ideas!
