Description:

We are making the Road to California block this month. PATTERN

You will have one partner.

For some reason when I try to add a picture and the link it won't let me create the swap.

It is SENDERS CHOICE for the colors. Make sure you use contrasting colors. Like dark blue and white or light pink and dark red. Please no NOVELTY fabrics. Novelties are Easter prints, kid prints, food prints, animal prints, etc. You can use floral prints and geometric prints. Just nothing that reads children blocks.DO NOT RATE ON WHETHER OR NOT YOU LIKE THE COLORS. RATE ON WHETHER OR NOT THE BLOCK IS THE RIGHT SIZE AND MADE PROPERLY. THIS SWAP IS INTENDED FOR BEGINNERS TO GET THEIR FEET WET.

Please try your very best to use a scant 1/4 inch seam allowance when constructing your blocks. The finished block should measure 12 1/2 inches when it is complete.

To make it easier for newbies, after you cut out your squares use a disappearing ink marker to draw your seam allowance. Then sew just next to the line, not on top of it. This will make it easier to learn the scant seam allowance. Please pm me with any questions. You can also measure from your needle over 1/4 of an inch and use masking tape as a guide.

Newbies are welcome. Please fill out your profile. Everyone has to start some where. Experienced swapper with a 4.8 or higher may join to. I will be checking profiles. Please no recent bad ratings. You have to be 30 days free of bad ratings.

Please make a block you would like to receive. Lets keep any questionable fabric for something else. Please us color combination's that are pleasing to the eye. We want to be able to use these blocks. It is disappointing to get a block that you can't use. It will discourage people from wanting to join.

I know it's sender's choice, but can I just beg my partner for no pink or orange in mine! Pretty please? Just about anything else is fine as my quilt will have a lot of colors in it, and I'm doing two--one that's blue/white & red/black, and another all scrappy and mixed colors--so anything goes.

I would appreciate it if it could be in the creams, mauve, light pink, sage greens if at all possible. Thanks :)

Hi, I'm having to drop this swap--no more quilting for a while, but I hope to get back to it in a couple of months--the insanely cluttered space calls!!!
