Description:

Wouldn't it be fun to swap fall colored fabrics & a little bit of trim? Colors will be Green, Brown, Cranberry, Orange and/or Golden Yellow. Any combination of these colors. There should be 5 fabrics of at least 18" x 22" in size and 1 which is 1 meter long (1.09yard) - (please keep the original width.) Also add at least 2 yards of pretty fall ribbon, lace, old trim or ric rac (not cheap stuff, this is to be nice trim/ribbons.) Trims can be in lengths of 1/2 yard and up (totaling at least 2 yards.)

Please post below with things you like to make, preferences, etc.. so your secret swapper has an idea of what you'll use. Then check your secret partner's profile to see whether they quilt or make bags, clothes, etc. And choose fabrics & trim accordingly.

Please don't forget to include a small note explaining why you chose what you did.

USA and international swappers welcome. Thank you for joining.

This is such a great idea! Fall is my favorite time, plus my husband and I collect acorns. So, obviously, any trim or buttons with acorns or oak leaves would ROCK. Fabric too, of course. I have one kind of fabric with acorns and will make sure to send at least an 18x22 piece to my partner.

I prefer cottons - smooth (like quilting fabric) or flannel.

I'm an intermediate sewer/crafter, or advanced beginner. I sew tote bags, heating packs, knitting needle cases, etc.

I do anything with fabric. Quilt, make bags, dolls, use it in paper collage, etc... I prefer older fabrics, small florals, 1930's real and reproduction fabrics. I love all these colors but greens are my favorites. Old greens like avocado, celedon, etc... I love unusual prints, prints reminiscent of older eras (1960's, etc...)

I prefer 100% cotton for quilting and heavier fabrics for tote bags. Flannel or wool for doll making.

I'm excited about this swap!

I do all kinds of things with fabric. I collect it, along with all kinds of trims, without any specific project in mind. Any autumn colors are fine. I prefer cotton fabrics, but if you've got something interesting made from something else, surprise me. As long as you're sending something you'd be happy to receive, we're good.

Hello! I am happy to be swapping with you. Hi Kris! I finally got my confirmation. I love the fall season and fall colors. I enjoy machine embroidery, sewing and scrapbooking. I used to do the craft fair booths but now I just sew for myself. I like to make purses and do things for around the home. This summer I have been mostly scrapbooking so, my fabric will probably be used for that hobby. Debbie Mumm is my favorite designer. I have a stock pile of her fabric. I am not paticular and will be please with anything I get! This is my first swap here and I am looking forward to it. See ya' tomorrow at Bingo Miss Kris!

I'm looking forward to sharing some favorite fabrics! I sew all sorts of things, usually requiring less than a yard of fabric, so this is a perfect swap for me. Prefer cottons and ethnic or geometric prints, but I'm sure I'll be happy with whatever surprises are in store.

I love to quilt, sew for my 5 year old daughter and make bags. I also do a lot of scrapbooking and cardmaking too and I am starting to incorporate fabric more in that. I LOVE fall colors - especially those in this swap - the deeper and richer the color the better. I live nature prints, asian inspired, and large florals.

anyone into having 2 swappers? i seem to have quite alot of these colors. i use all natural fibers; mostly cotton (love vintage) but also linen, pure wools, hemp&cotton corduroy (nothing too stretchy or too thin). looking forward to some new and inspiring bits of fabric.

user1938 08/16/2006 #

I would love to swap with 2 partners. I don't want to change the swap at this late date though. If I don't get you, and vice versa, I am most willing to swap with you as well...

I like cotton fabrics with repeated prints :) If it's vintage. Even better. Haha. Other than that, I'm into simple and clean patterns and lines.

I mailed my package today. It's going from Michigan to the UK, but they said it shouldn't take longer than 1 week.

user2551 08/23/2006 #

I mailed my package today and it should arrive in about 10 days. Hope you enjoy it.

crazycatladymel 08/24/2006 #

If you don't live in the UK (or don't mind not being surprised, just in case you're my partner), you can see part of the package starting here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/crazycatladymel/223370428/

user1938 08/31/2006 #

I sent out the package to my partner, AND Pumpernickel for our private trade. Hope you both enjoy the items! For a sneak peek, I posted a pic on my blog: http://www.collagecontessa.blogspot.com

I am not fond of quilting but I do enjoy making bags. So for me, I'd love bold fall print fabric in Canvas or Cotton Canvas. The 5 fatquarters in cotton with small prints, ideal for lining and extra decorations. Any trim would do nicely so long as it matches the fabrics.

Thanks! Mine will be sent tomorrow on Priority mail. Sorry for the delay, it should arrive to my partner in a week.

user1940 09/ 2/2006 #

crazycatladymel 09/16/2006 #

I heard from my partner that her package arrived safely! I'm still waiting for one to come to me. Hopefully it's just been delayed in the post! I just wanted to explain to the person who sent to me that I had to give the rating to find out who had my name. Once the rating went through, I could see that she sent the package.

user2551 09/22/2006 #

I hope my partner recieved hers. I mailed it in August and haven't heard anything yet. I haven't recieved anything from my partner yet.

user2551 09/22/2006 #

I just checked the swap participant list and my partner is the only one that hasn't sent yet.
