Number of swap partners:1
Description:

As the previous round went well, I decided to make other round :)

You will send one partner a small surprise, consisting ONLY of great things made in your country which are not widely distributed by big international chains, therefore they are difficult (although not impossible) to get somewhere else and which you thing is so great that it makes you proud on where you live (in case of US swappers it must from your city or at least from your state, not widely distributed in other US states). Finns, please try concentrate on things from your region/city if its possible, I had lot of you in previous round, so there is possibility that you may get paired with other Finn (its automatic, i cant influence it :-/).

Value around 5$ (thats roughly 3,6 Euro today) so we will not risk so much in swap opened to everyone.

Completely senders choice so you prepare something even before swap deadline. But no live or fresh stuff please (so no seeds!), its banned in several countries (like Australia and Canada for example) !!! If you want to send something like chocolate or other edible, checking for example http://worldweather.wmo.int/ to find out temperatures in your partners country this time of year to know if what you are sending can survive the trip.

Purpose is to receive some intersting surprise that will NOT make you "hmm, nice :-/ , i could buy tons of this at the nearest store" and to have fun with ABSOLUTELY not knowing what you will receive :-)

Requirement that what you send should make you proud on where you live is to make sure that although you dont know what you will receive, it will NOT be some boring junk made in some other country with cheap labor.

Everybody is welcome :-) (however i will check the profiles and ban anyone suspicious, so if you are an absolute newbie, please fill your profile and be communicative).

Some examples of great stuff from your country:

  • local souvenirs, maps, postcards

  • magazines (with lof of pictures please if its not in english)

  • local edibles that can survive at least 1 month before they spoil and are not too temperature sensitive (like candy etc,)

  • some local products from small companies that does not sell internationally

  • great vintage stuff that used to be stuff widely available many years ago but now is more rare (but still is great)

  • handmade stuff using traditional technique specific for your country

  • recipes how to cook some great food specific for your country or region

  • anything showing work of some local artist/artists

etc.

"Few" how-to notes for absolute newbies:

Until we reach one day after "Last day to signup/drop", the swap is not actually started yet, so you can anytime signup/drop without any consequences. When we reach that day, i have to press a button to assign partners (I cannot influence who is assigned to who, its automatical). Then you will see on your dashboard in details about this swap "Partners assigned: Yes".

Until we reach one day after "Date items must be sent by:", you should click on "See the patners you send to" link and check to who you should send your surprise and (for this swap at least when you want to send something edible) check profile of this person, put surprise you want to send into envelope or box, send it and go to this swap and click "Click here when you have sent your items". Thats it :-) . It does not matter how long it takes to arive, however if you send somewhere far use airmail (or if your financial situation is not so good, at least notify your swap partner that you sent by land).

If you did not send until "Date items must be sent by:" date, you can still send your items and mark that you sent, but be prepared that some people may rate you only 3 for the delay. If you have some serious reason for delay with sending, please let me and your swap partner know.

If you dont receive your package from this swap for long time, click on "rate your partner and coordinator" link, but dont rate yet. Just check person that should send to you (It may be different person that to who you send) and her/his profile, click on "View participants" to see when the package was send and if you will see that package has to travel between continents (for example from Europe to Asia, from Asia to USA) be patient!

When its really too long, contact the sender try to sort out together what happened (maybe she/he got ill or has house damaged by tornado, or has some other family emergency, you never know). If the sender will be willing to resend, you still might get something, if not, we will all consider her/him to be a "flaker" and you can give very very bad 1 rating :-P .

If you DO receive your package and printed date on it when post office accepted it is "Date items must be sent by:" or before, rate always 5 for this swap (because its senders choice what you should get) and if you love what you received, you may give a heart for it. If it was sent later than "Date items must be sent by:" date, you may rate 3 (but you dont have to, its up to you).
