Description:

I love sharing recipes but often find that I end up with recipes I can't use as I don't have all the ingredients available in my country. Hence the reason for this swap.

The challenge is to create a book/journal of recipes that can be used by anyone, give or take the time of year and seasonal availability. Try to keep it to fresh ingredients or basic pantry items, then it can be used wherever in the world you are! Think "Made from Scratch".

There are to be no ingredients listed that are packaged or processed foods, this includes things like graham cracker crumbs, lemon pudding mix, chilli sauce, Kewpie Mayonnaise. These won't be available everywhere or may be in a different formula elsewhere that won't work in the recipe. Use universal measures, a stick, tub or can may not be a valid measure or the same size wherever you go. Use cups, ounces etc.

There are a minimum of 20 recipes. Please have a mix between sweet and savoury and different kinds of baking and meal types. No more than 3 of any one kind.

You can write the recipes in a notebook or journal with the remainder of the pages blank for your swapper to add to, or bind them into their own booklet. It is up to you whether you decorate your swap or not, it is not essential. Please make sure your work is easy to read.

Can you tell me the number of grams that goes in a cup? We don't really measure in cups in Europe and the average American cup usually is waaaaaay bigger than a European one :P So maybe using measurements in cups isn't that universal at all..?

A metric cup measure is 250ml You could measure in ounces instead. I understand that fluid and solid ounces are different measures but there are conversion charts for both into whatever measure you are used to using. Annette
