Description:

This swap is for handmade technique backgrounds to use for handmade cards, atc's or scrap booking. You will have 4 partners to mail to and will mail each 2 pieces of the background you make. The size of the backgrounds are to be 4.25" x 5.5" which means you will get 4 from each letter size (8.5" x 11") sheet of card stock. You will make 2 sheets of the background and that gives you the 4 sets to send out! They should easily fit into a regular flat envelope to mail to your partners, so it won't be an expensive to mail swap. It is US only to also keep the postage down - sorry I am not working right now so international postage is out of my reach. Feel free to snag the idea and post an international version if you like.

Use ideas from Technique Junkies if you are a member or an online tutorial to create your backgrounds or do a resist technique or if you made something up that is fine too. (these are just ideas off the top of my head - use your imagination here!) Just be sure it is a nice/fun/usable background for someone else to make something from.

KARMA - Remember swap unto others as you wish to be swapped to! Only send something you would want to get in return and going the extra mile to make it nice is truly appreciated!

Please note that I am NOT able to angel swaps at this time, I just simply have too much going on with family obligations, lack of funds and have health issues that often prevent me from having excess craft time. I do my best to weed out the bad/flaker swappers before we even start but there is always a chance someone has an issue that prevents them from playing or mailing on time. Please try to work it out with them via the message system or email. Always remember to use the rating system - that is what it is there for to help hostesses weed people out and let others know so they aren't taken advantage of too. Thank you for understanding.

If you are new or have no ratings please contact me BEFORE signing up in regards to this swap. If you have low ratings or recent no sends please do NOT sign up this swap we do not want any disappointments! I will weed thru the sign ups before clicking to assign partners.

I'm excited about this swap! I love making artist's papers, and have used lots of techniques...it's a wonderful chance to play!

Thanks for cheerleading here Martha! I love background swaps too but sometimes they require so many and such large pieces that I am scared off! I like to work in half sheets and quarters. Tell your friends let's get a LOT of people playing!

this looks fun! I just signed up tonight, so I don't know how to do a swap. Can I join?

This is a great way to begin with artist's papers...Pinkroses, I really hope you will join us! I'm fairly new to Swapbot myself, and don't really know how to go about recruiting folks...but I'll see what I can do!

C'mon, all you watchers...this will be an awesome swap; a good way to challenge yourself to new art discoveries!

Sorry - I don't mean to be dense - but we are creating backgrounds on cardstock/paper - not creating/making the paper itself, right? For example - watercolored, stamped, marbled, etc.

marthy 06/16/2010 #

...sounds right to me....:D

kcfroglady 06/19/2010 #

yes we are making a background on the paper like water coloring or a resist technique or marbling or faux something or another LOL! Hope that helps.

pinkroses I see you have 2 completed swaps but no ratings - go ahead and join in maybe a rating will come in before we start this swap :)
