Description:

Back in High School, I shared a notebook with three of my friends that we passed around and wrote letters in. It was almost like a co-op journal in a way!

I've been thinking for a long time that it would be a neat idea to use the co-op journal with a penpal, so here goes.

Number one rule, you have to be willing to reply to your sender.

So, here's how it goes. Choose a notebook. I prefer the Lisa Frank ones myself. Something cheerful! But the choice is up to you. Write a letter to your partner and send the notebook to them. Introduce yourself, decorate it if you like, be creative.

Simple as that!

Upon receipt, your partner will respond and send the notebook back. Keep it going for as long as you like! Filling in a notebook with notes and decorations is so much fun!

I know sending notebooks can get rather expensive, so I'm going to keep this US only to keep shipping costs down.

No 1's in the last three months please. This is a pretty involved project and nobody likes a flaker!

Thanks! :)

So really you'd be writing in 2 notebooks, the one you recieve FROM a partner, and the one you SEND TO a partner. Correct?

chrissygee 06/11/2010 #

Yes, it would wind up being two all together. :)

You did good with this swap sweetie. I've been doing this with several friends now for a year and it's the most amazing journals I have. It's so much fun to do. I hope it's very very successful. Namaste

This sounds like SO much fun. I'd LOVE to get a partner who would like to do this "over the years" : ) Thanks for posting this, I'm looking forward to it.

RainyC: It can be any type of notebook, whether spiral or composition/journal books. Whatever tickles your fancy!

RainyC 06/19/2010 #

chrissygee 06/19/2010 #

Just a hint for those of you who haven't sent yet. Check the weight of your journal. There is a priority mail "if it fits, it ships" envelope mailer at the post office that costs $4.90 to ship, and the mailer package is free. Instead of buying the large envelope plus shipping for considerably over the $4.90 because I was honest and said there was more than a book included.
