Description:

Does anyone remember doing this art in school? See the amazing number of shapes and textures in nature.. Use paper and crayons or pencils to make rubbings of leaves, bark of different trees, rocks, and other cool stuff you find outdoors. Something you think the outline or texture of is really cool! You can also find great things to make rubbings of inside your home as well!! If you have kids, maybe you'll let them help!

What You Need:

•Paper (paper with no lines works best) computer paper works very well.

•Crayons or a pencil..

How To Make a Rubbing:

1.Look for objects that are rough, bumpy or feel interesting.

2.Hold your paper over the object.

3.Hold your crayon or pencil on its side and rub across the bumpy parts. For fun, try using different colors together.

Please have fun with this swap! Senders choice! Send your partner one rubbing, any more is optional and not required. Newbies are welcome, please have a well filled out profile or you may be removed from the swap. PLEASE rate your partner a 5 if you receive rubbing art from them, even if it is a rubbing of a turtle and you hate turtles! This sure brings back memories for me! And it sure does relieve stress! Take a walk or ride around outside and see what you can find! I'm giving lots of time for this swap for those who very busy but want to join in! These can be mailed in a regular envelope, so yes they can be folded. Make sure to include a note telling your partner what it is you did the rubbing of! Easy peasy! I will angel if necessary. If you have any recent 1's, you may be banned. Nobody wants to be flaked on.

I loved doing this in school and even now I often find myself wishing I had brought some paper and a crayon when I see and interesting texture.

I love rubbings! - Both of nature-y things and non-naturey things. :) Rubbings are so easy to use for mixed media art pieces, making cards, etc. I already have an idea of one thing I want to make a rubbing of for my partner. Actually, my partner will probably be getting several rubbings instead of just one. Rubbings are so much fun to make.

They are, I like to use some of my favorite things I have in my house, too. Last time it was an old mason jar passed down to me.

I got mine done yesterday, and had so much fun. It is ready to mail first thing in the morning. I hope my partner likes them. :)
