Description:

Since you can get dvds really cheap now and they're easy to ship I thought this may be a fun swap.

After you sign up leave a long comment talking about your favourite movie genres, actors, directors etc. Make sure you leave a long list of favourites

After partners have been assigned find your partner in the comments and read through their comment to find a fav you have in common. You both like comedy or you both like a certain actor/director. If you can't find anything in common pm your partner and see if you a can find at least 1 thing. Unless your really extremely picky about the movies you watch (And if you are this is not the swap for you) then it shouldn't be too hard to find a common film interest.

After you've figured out your common film interest head over to the movie store, department store, thrift store, anywhere that sells movies. Look for a dvd you think both you and your partner may enjoy, which you have not seen yet. Shouldn't be too hard I have no trouble find dvd of various types for less then $10. There is no minimum spending limit just as long as the dvd works, make sure you save the receipt if it doesn't play make sure you exchange it before shipping it to your partner.

After you have purchased the dvd, watch it and then write a letter about it. In the letter state why you choose this dvd, why you thought both you and your partner may enjoy it "it's a comedy and we both like comedy" "We both adore John Depp and he stars in this one" etc and tell them what you thought of it. Just becareful not to write spoilers in your letter.

Send to your partner the dvd and the letter

Ratings: As long as you receive a dvd and a letter stating why they thought you and they would like it, you should rate a 5. You may not rate down if you didn't like the movie, if you already have it or if you disagree with what they thought about the movie.

Requirement: 4.9 or higher at least 10 type 3 swaps completed.

Due to compatibility issues this is U.S. and Canada Only however if anyone would like to host this swap for other countries go ahead but link to this swap in the description and link to your swap in the comments of this swap to make it easier for people to find the swap they want.

Edit: it needs to be an official dvd no bootleg. If you wanna save a couple dollars on shipping and don't want to send the plastic dvd case, you may take it out of the case to ship but make sure you send the dvd in a protective sleeve. Also most dvds you can remove the cover, it's just a piece of paper you can pull right out. If the cover comes out send that so they can read the synopisis, rating, time etc and they can slip the cover into a new case and it'll look just like new. You'll have to put the dvd and the paper cover in a 6x9 or large envie so you don't put any additional folds into the paper dvd cover.

Does it have to be in its original case? If not, it can ship flat.

Also, can it be a good quality burned movie?

Bandeau 06/24/2010 #

@Catherine - It is against swap-bot rules to send any burned material. DVDs being sent MUST be purchased dvd's.
