If the journal has more than 31 pages, is it ok to leave some of them blank, as long as the introduction page is done and then the pages from 1-31 August?

SherriB 07/10/2010 #

So, aside from the introduction page, writing is optional, correct? We're just attaching items from our day to each page?

mwquilt 07/11/2010 #

Sorry..another question please. Is a "page" counting as a double sided sheet, so that 32 pages would be 64 sides. Or is a "page" counting as a side of paper, so that we have to work on a minimum of 32 sides of paper which would be 16 sheets?

And would a handmade journal be acceptable, or only store-bought?

janeengland 07/11/2010 #

@mwquilt yes its ok to leave some pages blank as long as theres the introduction and each day is complete. a page counts each side of a sheet, so that means there will be 16 pages making the journal light weight fo shipping.

@sherriB yes writing is optional but it would be nice to explain a bit about it for your partner, if the writing (information) is not in English then all the writing/information MUST be translatted.

I hope these answers help with your questions any more questions please ask.

i am loving the idea but i am a bit concerned that i can not find 31 items taht are different! i live ina small country town where i dont catch a bus, eat take away that much and i am thinking that most of my journal would be made up of receipts from stores or business cards and we arent allowed to use the same thing more than once. does anyone have any suggestions onhow I can still be in it but not bore my partner with a petrol receipt, a receipt for shopping, etc.????? if i went shopping i could cut out a picture from a catalogue of what i bought , but what other ideas could i use to fill up 31 days????? is somthing like a printout of my uni assignment ok too???? please let me know.

janeengland 07/13/2010 #

yes a printout of your assignment would be great, so would a cut out of what you bought when you went shopping, anything is ok as long as its something from your life.

@tkoufus how about a sketch/drawing of a bird you saw in the country, how about a handdrawn map of the route to take to the market, how about a plot of your vegetable garden, how about a photo of the neighbor's dog. There is plenty of life around us as long as we take off our blinders to look at it. I took a picture of a water puddle on the sidewalk and then a second picture of my water soaked sneaker after I jumped in the puddle.

Just some ideas--DrRuss

Is photocopies of the receipts ok.. ? I use that stuff in my photo-a-day journal..

janeengland 07/17/2010 #

i would prefer if its the original reciepts, i will leave it up to your partner to decide if photocopies are ok for them, if someone offered me photo copies i would tell them originals only please

mwquilt 07/17/2010 #

I think that food labels/candy wrappers etc from other countries are interesting. If you had a stay-at-home or just going to the grocers day, you could add some ( clean ) packaging like that to the journal

janeengland 07/18/2010 #

yes mwquilt thats fine

tkoufus 07/28/2010 #
