6x4 Photography Postcard Swap - RED

Can you use one of the on-line photo/postcard services to mail your photo card? There are several that I have used in the past.

I've never used one of those services, so I don't know what the quality is like. I"d prefer it if you to handwrite the postcard yourself. Makes it more 'handmade' and unique. What does everyone else think? Any preferences?

I've researched a little more into the on-line services and have decided that this is not suitable for this swap. Which means you must create and mail the postcards yourself. (that's half the fun anyway, right??)

I don't have experience with directly sending out, besides of that I love the handwritten too. But I have a good experience with printing as a postcard. However I like to make my own backgrounds, but I notice too that I mostly runed at least one photo when I have to glue my own background. Printing as a postcard could be a good alternative. They be sturding as a postcard and the colors are wonderful, just as you get a photoprint. And you can write them by yourself. The only problem is that they only print them in an order of 10 the same pieces.

Oops forgotton, when you do this you only can do it at a professional photoshop. I have the experience with photoprintmachines in malls, which printed sometimes the back as a postcard, that the photo is gorgeous but the card is not sturdy enough and mess up a postal machine. So most of the cards won't be sended out or be runed. It had to be at least 170 Lbz cardboard base for the Postal Service, which these aren't.

Target (in US) sells laminating pouches that do not require a machine -- however, they are only adhesive on ONE side, so when you trim your card, as I found out, you have to leave a little overlap from the adhesive side, so it still sticks together -- it is more convenient and cheaper than having a copy shop or photo shop do the lamination. To write on the non-photo side, you can [either/or] use permanent markers on the laminate or attach large address labels and write on them.
