Description:

This is a series of swaps for all you keen photographers, amateur or pro.

Rummage through your photograph collection, or take one specially for the theme, which this month, is WATER. Interpret this however you please; the ocean, a swimming pool, a dripping tap...

This swap is open to professional and amature photographers alike, but please send a good quality photograph, ie: in focus, well lit & composed.

Print your photograph at home (high quality) or at a photo lab (6x4 size), then securely adhere your photograph to card stock - postcards should be rigid, don't just send a photograph in the mail! Write on the back, perhaps a little about the photograph and/or yourself, stamp & send in the mail to your partners.

You will have two partners, and can send the same photograph to each if you like. This is an international swap, as postage is nice & low. You should send the postcard naked (not in an envelope).

A score of 4.9 or higher, with no recent no-sends is required please. Newbies welcome with a fully filled out profile :-) I will be checking all profiles. Please note - flakers & late senders will be banned from future swaps in the series.

The next in the series is CAKE! :-) http://www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/68553

Can we request to receive the PC in an envie or do they have to be sent naked?

Hi there. Personally I think the point of postcards is to be sent naked, but if you make the request & your partner is happy to oblige, then that's fine.

hi there!

Hi everyone. I've altered the swap description slighly. It hasn't changed in any way, but after recieving my swaps for the first in the series, I realised I needed to make a things a little clearer:

  • Photos should be in focus
  • Photos should be printed high quality (don't print at home if you can't acheive almost-lab-quality results)
  • It's a postcard swap, mount your photograph on cardstock, don't just send a potograph in the mail

Thanks!!

I send my photos to Walgreens and have postcards made. Is this an OK media to use on this swap?

xsazzlex 08/16/2010 #

Hi PawPal... as long as it's your own photo, then yes, no problem! :-)

I have so many great water shots that I can't decide which to use!!!!

This swap does look fun. Can the photos be black & white or Sepia?

xsazzlex 08/25/2010 #

Wow, 53 participants!!! We had a lot of people join up last minute, so just checking profiles / contacting people if needs-be, then I'll assign partners :-)

KraftyKaren - as long as the subject is water, yes, that's fine.
