INTERNATIONAL!!!

Since these tiny little squares don't cost much to mail no matter where you send them to, I am inviting all our international friends to join in the fun:)))

Several months ago I hosted a series of these swaps, but due to circumstances that was beyond my control, I had to leave swap-bot and my love of swapping behind for awhile. Now I am back and am starting fresh with this brand new series of swaps:) This is Round 1 of what I hope to be a monthly swap for many months to come:)))

For this swap you will send 50 1.5" fabric squares to each of 2 partners. Send no more than 2 squares of the same fabric, so you will be sending atleast 25 different fabrics.

The fabric you send MUST be 100% cotton or a cotton blend. No wool, rayon, polyester, etc. allowed!!! Please send quality fabric (not necessarily quilt quality), but MUST be good quality fabric that isn't so thin you can read the paper through it, lol. Be sure to choose pretty florals and prints mostly, but if you want to mix in a few neautrals, that is perfectly fine too. Just please limit the percentage of neautrals you send versus prints. Also, PLEASE.....be sure to measure and accurately cut each square 1.5".

I know that 50 to 2 partners sounds like an awful lot, but these little squares are so quick and easy to cut, you will have them all done before you know it:)))

Now some of you may be asking...."What on earth can you do with such tiny pieces of fabric?" Well, you can stitch them together to make a Postage Stamp Quilt, handbag, tote bag, placemats, coasters, tablecloth.....the possibilities are endless:))

Now let's get down to the Nitty Gritty:))) Newbies are welcome to join this swap, but must have a very well filled out profile. Seasoned swappers must have a 4.8 rating with no unexplained no-sends or 3 ratings. If you have received a 1 or 3 rating within the past 3 months, you need to pm me before signing up to explain your situation.

We all know that sometimes life happens that's beyond our control:) If for any reason you see that you are going to be late sending, be sure to contact both your partners and myself and let us know what's going on and all will work out fine:)))

If someone happens to get flaked on for this swap, either I will angel for you or I will find you an angel:)

This sounds like a wonderful swap! I dont know anything about quilting, but I looked up "Postage Stamp Quilt" and fell in love! The best part is, I have tons of scrap cotton!

The neat thing is that there are so many things that can be made of these tiny squares:))) If you would rather work on a small project rather than tackle a quilt, you can take the squares, stitch them together using a 1/4" seam allowance and make a simple tote bag and stitch a lining for the inside. Something like this is so simple you don't really even need a pattern to go by:)) Maybe add a velcro or snap closure and WOOLAH....got your tote:))) I am going to use some of my collection to make some placemats and coasters for my new table I bought last week:) Might even make a runner to go across my buffet:)

Gosh.....I love these little squares:)))

You know you can count on me buddie! I'm in!

perkl8r 07/20/2010 #

Hey, did I miss the part about how many 1 1/2" charms we can send from the same print of fabric?.....

SyntheticStars 07/20/2010 #

I'm curious as to how many squares cut from each fabric are allowed too, like @perkl8r

bettflow09 07/20/2010 #

Oops....sorry folks!!! I knew I was forgetting something, lol. Let's send no more than 2 of the same fabric, so we each need to have atleast 25 different fabrics:)

I will go right now and add this to the details. Thanks for bringing this to my attention @perkl8r So glad you're gonna be swapping with us friend!!!

mila61 07/29/2010 #

Hi, Could the squares be a little big bigger or they have to be exactly 1.5 inches?

bettflow09 08/ 2/2010 #

@mila61 ......for this swap the squares need to be cut precisely 1.5".

scrapkween 08/16/2010 #

how can you have a 4.8 rating with no 3s? That doesnt make sense...........

bettflow09 08/17/2010 #

@scrapkween you're right, maybe I didn't word that right, lol. What I meant is that everyone must have atleast a 4.8 rating with no unexplained 1 and no unexplained 3 ratings. In other words, someone that has an over abundance of 3 ratings with no explanation of why they were late sending swaps is not welcome to join this swap.

According to the USPS website both of my partners @scrappkween and @ playkonstantine received their swaps and I would kindly like to be rated. I hope you are enjoying all 75 squares! :)
