I'm so excited to be rated and make my own swap. I'm a writer and a reader, and in order to be a better writer, one must read. That said, one thing I love reading is writing by people who AREN'T well known. I love paging through the literary magazines of local areas and of colleges. My college's literary journal only accepted work from students, and the immense creativity in there is great. So in this swap, you will send a local literary magazine to one person. It can be from your college, your local book store, etc. As long as it somehow relates to where you're from (so, no Paris Reviews, etc ... but a smaller review such as the Iowa Review would work well). It's easy to go into a bookstore and find one. Often, the local ones are super cheap and are the neatest looking because they're trying to be creative. Also, if you're on or near a college campus, chances are you can score one for free. Ask a librarian for help! It's cheap. It's creative. And you might just read the next big thing. This swap is open to everyone - newbies and internationals. If you're international, an English language journal is best, but if you DO want to send an internationally-languaged one, too, then that would be pretty cool! |
