Description:

This is a swap for all of you amigurumi lovers! There is a lot of plushie and stuffie love on swap-bot (which is fantastic (^.^)), but when I type 'amigurumi' in the search box and click, there's usually nothing there. (TT,TT) So I've made a swap to remedy the situation as well as satisfy my need to crochet amigurumi. And I know that there are plenty of amigurumi fanatics out there!

In this swap, you will make 1 amigurumi to send to your 1 swap partner. You will also be making a small profile/ID card for your amigurumi to give to it's new owner.

I'm keeping this a US swap, for now. I am very interested in making an international amigurumi swap, but since this is my first time hosting I'd like to start out slow. :)

REQUIREMENTS are as follows:

+Your amigurumi must be at least 5". Personally, I'd like them to be bigger, but I understand that most of us are on a schedule (and a budget!), and some of the cuter patterns are small.
+Your amigurumi must be made with clean materials. Remember, we're making amigurumi and that means they're going to be hugged!
+ Your amigurumi must be accompanied by a "Profile Booklet" or "ID Card" which should be smaller than a PC and no smaller than an ATC . Just something short and sweet containing the following:

  • Favorite Color
  • Favorite Food
  • Favorite Song/Band
  • Favorite Country/State/City
  • Birthplace
  • Pet Peeves
  • Blood Type
  • Personality
Of course, it's perfectly fine to add more. A name is not necessary since it's better for the new owner to name them themselves. A 'nickname' would be cute, tho. Definitely take creative liberties with this!!

REMEMBER to visit your partner's profile to get to know their likes and dislikes (animals/colors). At swap-bot we love to be creative and adventurous, but its always great to keep our swap partners in mind. It also makes swapping more challenging and fun!

RATING is pretty simple. If you received your amigurumi on time and it meets the requirements, please rate a 5. If they made you something that you can tell was made with you in mind, heart it! Of course, awarding hearts is completely up to you.

WHO CAN SIGN UP? People with a rating of at least 4.6 are welcome. Newbies are also welcome, just please message me if this is your first Type 3 swap. Everyone must have a filled-out profile! Please, no flakers! The swappers who join will be taking a lot of time and effort to craft something they're proud of, and not receiving anything would be very disappointing.

COST of the swap depend on your materials present. If you already have your yarn, stuffing, and crochet hook/knitting needles, this swap can cost anywhere from $5-$15 dollars for shipping/shipping supplies. Keep that in mind!

This looks like a fun swap!! Will watch for the International version.. Just want to mention tho.... 3.6 is a REALLY low rating :(

KatSu 08/24/2010 #

Oh, I meant 4.6!! Thanks for pointing that out. :)

Here are a lot of free patterns. This is one of the best sites I've come across because it has pictures of all the projects, and not just the initial list.

I just want to say that I'm so excited!! I can't wait to get started and make something really cute.

Amigirl 09/24/2010 #

I'm so excited to see who my partner is! Then I'll know whether I have one that will suit her ready to go, or whether I get to make a new one specially for the swap!
