Description:

This swap is similar to the emotional purge journal swap, but for USA only because of the cost of shipping. I love swapping with people around the world, but sometimes it's just too costly to send a journal overseas.

60 of the questions must be answered. I've given some extras for leeway. Sometimes people can't answer every single question, so I figured it would be better to give more options than necessary. Please keep in mind this is supposed to help you get out your emotions; help you cope with the pain that comes with certain areas of life. Please don't give only one word answers to questions. I'd say at least a paragraph is necessary, but try to make it longer. The goal here is to get things out, but it's also to help people understand. Make them feel what you are feeling, or what you felt that day.

Your journal should be at least 5x7, but if that's the case, make it one with a larger page count. A composition book is cheap and would work best, but you may use a fancier one. You could always get a composition book and alter the cover with some pretty tape if you would like it to be pretty instead of plain. You may make your own journal, but please create a nice one. It's not necessary to decorate the cover since this is a writing swap.

Handwritten is preferred, but it's okay to type too. Write the prompt on each page, so your partner knows what you're writing about.

1 partner. 4.8 or higher rating required, no newbies, sorry. I can host another one in the future if this goes well.

This will take a lot of time to complete, so please don't join if you think you won't be able to complete it. I will angel if I have to, but hopefully it won't happen like that.

You will have around two months to complete the swap, so that's plenty of time to get this done. You do not have to keep it for 2 months, but some people only choose to write one prompt per day.

Hey! Im glad someone made a USA only version and I am glad you used different questions. Makes it more interesting. I plan on joining as soon as I have an open spot!

MysticBayou 09/ 7/2010 #

Thank you for letting me know that you put the US version of this Swap up!! I joined and and I am looking forward to getting started:)

meljayprice 09/ 7/2010 #

can you make a canadian verision?

aidenromantic 09/ 7/2010 #

@ElizabethObviously I really wanted to join but I felt there was not enough options and I didn't want to send to the whole world, so I figured I'd go USA only and add a lot more options.

@MysticBayou No problem! You can get started right away if you'd like. You were part of the reason I went ahead and decided to make one. :)

@meljayprice Did you want it to be USA and Canada or just Canada? If it's just Canada, I can't do it, because I'm USA based. I can do a separate one for USA and Canada, as post to Canada is slightly more, I don't want to change it on the people who requested a USA only version. I have no problem hosting two different versions, one allowing Canada and one for just us USA folks. Let me know.

ElizabethObviously 09/ 7/2010 #

Yah honestly I was a bit annoyed until I read it and saw it was totally different. There have been problems before with people just copy and pasting entire swaps. But yah...I cant wait to join!

aidenromantic 09/ 7/2010 #

@ElizabethObviously Yeah, I think it's pretty uncool to copy and paste the entire swap. I figured if I addressed the fact that it was based off your swap and then change the questions, it'd be cool to create one.

whispernova 09/ 8/2010 #

When you say write a letter, do you mean write a letter in the journal...would that be one of the prompts?

whispernova 09/ 8/2010 #

I have a question...maybe I am alone here, but sometimes I have a hard time sending a journal I have worked so hard on. A part of me wants to keep it and pass it down to my children or something. To me, a journal like the one in the swap is something I know I would love to treasure had my own Mother done something like this? Does anyone else feel the same way? I do love this swap though:)

aidenromantic 09/ 8/2010 #

@whispernova Yes, it's one of the prompts. It just goes in the journal just so that you can get release from whatever you need to say that you don't want to say to them.

And to answer your question about it being hard to send it. It is hard, but I think of it as a form of therapy that is low cost. It does help to get things out. And there's certain things you wouldn't want your children to read that you can say in some of these prompts.

MysticBayou 09/ 8/2010 #

Can we maybe include a Postage Paid Envie with our journals if we would like them returned home?

aidenromantic 09/ 8/2010 #

@MysticBayou you may discuss that with your partner. I'm sure some people wouldn't mind sending it back after it's read.

catchahug 09/ 8/2010 #

i cherish my journals from all my swap girl friends id rather not send it back also if someone has sent me ajournal i dont want to pass it around because its between my partner and me ill never tell anyone its our special secret plus maybe i dont want my hubby to see what i wrote to my girlfriend or family

VivaLaDiane 09/ 9/2010 #

If you get any flakers and need help, I volunteer. Until then, I'm working on mine now. :)

aidenromantic 09/ 9/2010 #

@VivaLaDiane Thank you for offering. :) It's always nice to have an extra angel just in case.

theladylilac 09/ 9/2010 #

I'm litterally sitting down right now and begining to decorate my notebook for the swap :) I've already written 3 entries ^-^ ~teehee~

ElizabethObviously 09/10/2010 #

Oh I totally understand that feeling, not wanting to send it out because you put so much effort and thought into it.

And yeah @aidenromantic that is pretty much what I mean. Totally appreciate the nod of appreciation!

theladylilac 09/11/2010 #

@elizabethobviously I photo copy mine before sending them and scan them into my computer so I have them always xD
