Description:

This swap is for knitters (beginner and advanced) who also enjoy tea. In this swap, you will send your partner the following:

  1. At least 15 bags of tea (can be a variety, or all the same kind. Can be boxed, loose, tinned, or in individual bags - just needs to be the equivalent of at LEAST 15 bags of tea.)

  2. A full ball or skein of yarn. This yarn must be a NICE yarn - I hesitate to put restrictions on this, because of the wonderful varieties of fiber out there, but please don't send junk. It must be new! It may be from your stash if it is truly something your pal would like. Please DO look in your partner's profile or in the comments below for allergy information!

  3. A tea accessory or treat (for example: biscotti, mugs/teacups, teabag holders, infusers, tea cosies, bag squeezers, stir sticks, etc.)

  4. A knitting accessory or treat (for example: handmade knitting needles, stitch markers, tote bag for on the go knitting, pattern book, etc.)

  5. Something you knitted yourself (can be absolutely ANYTHING!!! as long as you knitted it yourself!)

Please keep in mind that the requirements are MINIMUMS. Feel free to pamper your pal as you would like to be spoiled.

Now the "knitty" gritty:

Since this is a large, rather expensive, and involved swap, no newbies please. You must have a rating of 4.85 or better with no no-sends. A minimum of 10 hearts is required. I will ban before assigning partners, and will remove anyone who I feel will not complete the swap. If you feel you are an exception to any of the above, please message me and I'll be glad to chat with you!

Please do not send junk. The minimum value of this swap should be at least $25.

Swap is for the US Only!

Each person will have one swap partner, and plenty of time to make up and send out your partner's package :) PLEASE mark your items as "sent" when you have sent them as I personally contact those who haven't marked theirs as "sent" after the swap deadline.

I'm a little confused about #1 because you say that you need to send 15 tea bags but then you say "needs to be the equivalent of at LEAST 10 bags of tea." So is it 15 or 10 tea bags?

stephaniedavies 09/12/2007 #

It was a typo, thanks for catching it! :) It should read 15 bags of tea :)

Is this international? That could be costly.

As it says in the description, it is for the US only. But I would like to say that if that's your reason for asking if it's international, you probably shouldn't join as I want this to be a costly swap...with nice stuff and not junk. The reason I dislike international swaps is because here in the US you have no way of tracking an international package, and it is so easy for your partner to say they didn't get it, and you have no way of purchasing proof of delivery.

Stephanie, If you look at my profile you will see that I ALWAYS go above and beyond. I once did a journal swap and it cost $11 to send. I send packages to Africa to a friend in the peace corps and know they are $37 at least. I like to limit my overseas so that I can spend the money on the package. I resent you implying that I'm not the type of swapper that goes the extra mile. I have NEVER sent junk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The coordinator seems to have flaked. Anyone else not get a package or a message from partner?
