Description:

Vintage Linen Revamp! For this swap you will raid your stash or your local thrift store and find yourself a little vintage linen. This might be a doily, a hanky, a table runner, tablecloth or a pretty embroidered piece. Imperfect is better! I always love to find something that has a little hole, wear spot, stain or something that would make it "undesirable" to someone else with lesser "vision"! You will then make something for your partner from it. Something that it was not originally intended for. A little way to preserve the past, to make something unwanted into something treasured. Perhaps you will fashion a hanky rosette brooch, or a pretty sachet for your partner's drawer, a little coin purse to keep their postage stamps, or a sweet little glasses case, or a little pocket tissue cover. Just one little revamp for one partner. If there is interest in more of this kind of swap, I would like to continue this theme with a revamped linen tote and Christmas stocking later :o) We should have no flakers among us, but as usual, if someone goes rogue, I will angel the swap, and ban them from the group!

Would an art doll be an acceptable way to use the linen too?

OOOooo! I have to figure out the sewing machine, a great idea!!!!

I was thinking of a functional revamp rather than as an art piece per se. However, I had also considered, making an ornament for the tree or a pincusion as also acceptable ideas. I think I am going to leave that to your interpretation. If your partner is a doll person, that could be the best thing ever :o)

I tried, oh I tried! But I cannot seem to get my little hands on any vintage linen! I've been to every thrift store I know of an nothing - pooh to them!

Have fun ladies, and I want to see pictures! :3
