Description:

Many of the good things have a hole in them.

For this swap, you'll take a piece of string. It can be ribbon, yarn, twine or anything else you can think of as a string of some sort. A good length would be something like as long as it is from your thumb to your elbow. Could be more or less, it's up to you.

Then you take some 10 different objects that you can put on the string. For that they must have a hole or a loop or something so you can pass the string through them. Tying a knot is not an option here.

What the objects should be, then? Let's make this half sender's choice and half profile based. Beads (depending on the size and style, use 1-5 for one "object"), rings, key rings, buttons (same rules as with beads), rolls of tape, keys, safety pins, purse charms, scissors, millstones, car tires, Ferris wheels... Anything, that can be put on the string. Please pick something your partner will be able to use somehow: no crap, trash or rubbish or anything they claim to hate. Some parts could be handmade by you, store bought, thrifted, from your stash... As long as it's cool and silly and usable.

When you're done, tie the ends of your string so the objects won't fall off, pack safely and send it to your partner.

If you flake you'll be removed from the group and looked at with the evil eye for the rest of your life on the surface of this planet.

The picture is a poor example of what I was thinking of put together in two minutes out of stuff I had near my desk. Do better than that!

Wow! I just noticed that four out of six of us have a bird in our profile picture... This must definitely tell something about us!

That's funny! I usually have an owl myself. In fact, I have owls on all my other sites.. I switched to the dog when my dog died, and I didn't have the heart take her off to put the owl back up....So I'm a bird at heart myself! :)

So that leaves just me as the odd one out... :`( I hope you will still accept a non-avian into the fold!

Sorry to hear about your dog, Strixie! I might have lost one of my cats for good (he went outdoors and hasn't come back and it's been over a month!) but I could never use his photo as my profile picture or I'd be sobbing all the time.

Tsireldi you are more than welcome! I've never hosted a swap with this many participants yet :-)

Prunella, this is a great idea for a swap. I'm really looking forward to collecting the items for my awesome swap partner! :-)

Thanks valkyr! I've been planning for this for quite some time. Who knows, if this goes well we could do this again and again and again.... :-D It would be so great if everybody took pictures so we could see how silly their strings look.

Just took a picture of my string before sending it! I'm gonna add it to my Flickr once my partner has rated me.
