What is a mandala? The word mandala is from the classical Indian language of Sanskrit. Loosely translated to mean circle. For this swap you will send your partner one mandala that you have colored. Feel free to use whatever you like, crayons, pencils, sharpies ... Coloring mandalas can be very relaxing and almost meditative. So go ahead and google "mandala coloring pages" and print a page and have fun. The choice is yours there are basic designs and very complex designs. This swap is open to all skill levels and newbies are welcome with a filled out profile. No 1s or 3s in recent months without an explanation. This is a good way for newbies to boost ratings. Have fun, enjoy and happy swapping!

How to mail? Again your choice, mail it flat or fold it to fit a regular envelope.

Oh, how I wish this was open to Canada as well. I think I'll probably print out a sheet and color it anyway, just for the relaxing factor - coloring is fun! ;)

Hi Marryth, since this is my first time hosting a swap I wanted to keep it simple. I love mandalas so if all goes well I will be doing more, maybe with a theme. I am happy to add Canada the next time around. Always open to suggestions!

Most mandalas I see are round - but when I did a search for some mandala coloring pages, there are some pretty cool square ones - are those still really mandalas? Would it be OK to do one that isn't a circle?

Any requirement about how simple or how detailed it needs to be? There are some REALLY basic ones (that would probably be boring to color) and then some REALLY detailed ones (that could almost get tedious). Is it just each person's own choice based on their preference?

I just wanted to say how much fun I'm having coloring! I couldn't decide which one to print, so I printed more than one. :) I guess I'll choose the best one when I'm done, or maybe just mail them all, lol!
