Description:

I like the idea of having some personalized swapping necessities to use when I send out my swaps. I've seen people mention how they like to receive address labels and swap cards, so my idea was borne out of this.

For this swap you will create a set of personalized items for your swap partner. This is NOT sender's choice, therefore you will need to have a profile filled out to the extent that it is very clear what sort of themes and styles you enjoy. AND, you will need to read your partner's profile VERY CAREFULLY to avoid their dislikes and do not sends.

Include the following items in your Swapping Kit:

  • 1 sheet of 30 address labels (e.g. Avery 5160) - The labels can be different designs, as long as there is 1 sheet. These must include the full address of your partner. However, check your partner's profile 1st if they prefer not to have their swap ID on the address label.

  • 10 note sheets (size: approx 4 x 6 in or 10 x 15 cm) - Notesheets are similar to the idea of staionery, so you can write a note to your swap partner. The notesheets can be different designs, as well.

  • 10 swap cards (business card size: 2 x 3.5 in or 5 x 9 cm) - These should be cut out. They must include your partner's name & swapper ID/name plus something to the effect of "Please rate me when you receive this."

  • 1 sheet of stickers (20-24 on 1 sheet, e.g. Avery 5293 round labels) - Please make them unique and appropriate for your partner. The stickers can all be different designs and different shapes. They DO NOT have to be round, but they should be a sticker size and not a rectangular mailing label size. (edited 10/29/10 for clarification.)

NOTE: ALL items MUST be personalized and contain your partner's name & swap ID/name on them.

There are templates on the Avery website for all different kinds of labels & business cards.

Feel free to use the official Swap-Bot graphics of Ernie the Envelope in your designs, though it is NOT required.

Have fun!

I will remove questionable swappers at my discretion if I think will not be able to fulfill the requirements of this swap in a timely manner.

You must have logged in to Swap-Bot at least 2 days prior to the sign up date, or you will be dropped from the swap before partners are assigned.

This idea is very intriguing to me. I understand the address labels, the note sheets and swap cards but I am unsure what the round stickers would be for? My thought is envelope seals...but I could be wrong. I will watch until I am sure I can give it my full attention.

Do the note sheets and stickers also have to have their name/ and swap id on them? I understand labels and swap cards having the name and username but wasn't sure how we are to do on the notesheets and the round seals.

Because this is a Swapping Kit with the intention of being used to send swap items or with other swap items, everything that is made should be personalized. Consider it like sending a personalized stationary set to your partner.

You can substitute any style of stickers as long as you send the minimum required. They should be considered like envelope seals or bag seals.

okay just wanted to be sure if like stamping the name on the notepaper is okay or does it have to be run through a computer? I'll have to look for the seals you mentioned to see I can get them here, sound really cool.

Thanks for clearing up the "round sticker" question. I'm heading out to do some shopping tomorrow.
