SEW CRAFTY SCAVENGER HUNTâ„¢ #4!

Welcome to this exciting, fun, scavenger hunt-type of swap here on Swap-Bot! I have lots of ideas in store for future such swaps, so stay tuned for more fun yet to come!

Let's get started, shall we?

THEME: "SOME CRAFTY WINTER BLUES FUNâ„¢"

CATEGORIES:

  1. Winter
  2. Blue and/or white
  3. Snow
  4. Cozy
  5. WILD CARD FREE CHOICEâ„¢
  6. Treat
  7. Note

ITEMS: Each item you send will be chosen from one of the categories listed above. If you send an item that qualifies for more than one category, please choose which category it represents. You will be sending one item for each category. You can, of course, send more if you'd like, but the requirement is for a minimum of one item per category.

NOTE: The Sew Crafty swaps have a sewing theme to them, and as such, most of the items should be sewing-related, and at least one or two items should be fabric. In my examples there are always several fabric choices. Fabric, buttons, thread and such should be the main items sent. The note and the treat are of course non-sewing items, and the wild card free choice can be something else, but still crafting-related. This swap allows for a little more leeway for item #4, something cozy. It CAN be a wonderful, cozy fabric, of course, or it can be something other than fabric such as the examples I have given.

Categories 1 through 5: Since this is a SEW CRAFTY SCAVENGER HUNTâ„¢, your items will, of course, be sewing and craft-related. For sewing-related items, you will be looking for fabric fat eighths or quarters, buttons, ribbons, threads, appliques, small sewing items, pincushions, patterns, magazines, small handmade items, and such. See "Ideas" for examples.

If you are going to send fabric, send a minimum of a quarter yard TOTAL. That means that you can send 2 fat eighths for one category, but please don't send any fabric that is less than 9"x 22", and make sure that if you choose a fat eighth, that you make it TOTAL a quarter yard by sending TWO fat eighths. They can be different fabrics, as long as they total a quarter yard, and that they both fit the category to which they are assigned. If you send ribbon, please send a minimum of one yard.

Category 6: Since we all love getting little treats, this is a small item that is edible, drinkable, or usable, such as a small candy, a tea bag, a colorful gel pen, etc. It does not have to be sewing or craft-related, and it can be very small. You can follow your assigned partner's profile for ideas or preferences, or if none are listed, simply choose something you might enjoy.

Category 7: Please send a note enclosed in your package with the item identified for each category. Please include your Swap-Bot name so your partner knows who to rate and to whom to say "thanks!"

IDEAS: Here are examples of packages you might assemble for your partner--

A: a yard of snowflake print ribbon for #1, 1 fat eighth of blue and 1 fat eighth of white fabric for #2, snowflake buttons for #3, a pattern for a cozy winter hat for #4, a snowman for #5, a package of hot cocoa for #6, and of course your note for #7.
B: a card of snowflake buttons for #1, a fat quarter of blue and white fabric for #2, a snowman pin cushion for #3, a made or purchased pair of cozy socks for #4, a yard of ribbon in any color for #5, a tea bag or two for #6, and of course your note for #7.
C: a winter-themed sewing or craft magazine for #1, a blue tape measure for #2, a fat quarter of snowman fabric for #3, a cozy winter-themed pillow for #4, a package of rick rack or bias tape for #5, a small bag of coffee for #6, and of course your note for #7.

As you can see, you can be very creative in your scavenging! Think of it as assembling a small "gift basket" for your partner, centered around the theme, with each category represented. (No, you don't have to package it up in a basket.) There is no set dollar amount for this swap, but please send nice items that you would like to receive. You can check your partner’s profile for likes, dislikes, and faves, and you can email them for ideas or preferences; you can follow your own creative ideas as well. You can list an idea or preference below in the comment section, but please, don't be too picky. If your partner has followed the swap requirements as listed above, please rate them accordingly.

As always, for hearts, you can send extra goodies, or perhaps tuck everything into a basket, very large mitten, or tote bag if you'd like. But this is optional. The only requirements are as listed above.

ONLY BECAUSE OF POSTAGE COSTS, this swap is US only and open to swappers with ratings of 4.7 or higher. Because I want high quality swappers to participate, please, no new swappers without ratings.

If you really want an international swap, or if you have questions about this swap or something isn’t clear, please message me directly. I will host an international version if there is enough demand for it. Let's use the comment section below for participants to discuss their ideas and enthusiasm, or maybe list a preference or two. If you aren't interested in signing up but want to suggest something or have any other thoughts, PLEASE MESSAGE ME DIRECTLY. Please, let's leave the comment section for PARTICIPANTS.
