Description:

*Please, note there has been a change on paper size on this swap so more people can join in the fun. European and USA copy paper does not come in the same standered size so we are compromising and going with 28x21cm. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I love food and learning about the different God and Goddess around the world so I thought it would be fun to make a cookbook of recipes related to different Gods and Goddess. I am doing a swap similar to this in another group but only for Greek and Roman Gods. For this swap choose one God or Goddess from any where in the world whose name starts with the letter Ò€œAÒ€ and find a recipe that uses one of the foods that they are associated with. (This includes herbs and spices) Put the recipe and a few lines about the deity that you have chosen on an 28x21 cm piece of paper and decorate the sheet in a way that would be pleasing to look at. An example would be an apple tart for Aphrodite with the sheet decorated with apple blossoms and sea shells or an illustration of the Goddess Aphrodite in all her glory. Be creative and have fun with the art. This can be done on the computer or by hand. The recipe does not have to be of your creation but please tell where or who you got the recipe from. Make it a food you would want to try. Have fun, be creative and make your partner smile. I hope for this to be the start of a series of recipes. Also I have given all of us plenty of time to do this swap due to the holidays.

Requirements:

  1. Pick a God or Goddess whose name starts with the letter Ò€œAÒ€ and find a food that is associated with them.
  2. Find a recipe that use that food as one of its ingredients ( donÒ€ℒt for get to give credit where credit is due)
  3. Put a few lines about your God or Goddess, the food ingredient that relates to them and the recipe on a 28x21 cm sheet of paper
  4. Decorate the paper in a way that relates to your deity
  5. Put the name of the swap and your swap name on the back of your swap or on a separate note so your partner knows who to rate.

Ways to step up a notch but not a requirement:

You may want to make the recipe be of the same ethnic origin as the Deity you have chosen

Find a recipe that can be used or was used in a magical manner or Holiday

DonÒ€ℒt forget to rate. It is such a nice way to say thank you to your partner for all their efforts.

that's a brilliant idea :D what are the measures of the paper in? because here we measure with cm and I need to make sure I'd get it right. :)

I think that is 28x21.7 or the size of the sheet of paper I sent your Avalon letter on. Your swap inspired this on:)

aha... that's kind of different from our usual paper sheets which are 29.7x21. I don't mind the 29.7 - I can cut the bit away, but the 21 is argh. ponders

I don't think there is any way for people in Europe to find paper in US sizes. Is our A4 size unacceptable?

Awesome idea, will watch

I guess if we are going to collect those recipes then the papers would have to be of the same size, so... yeah, European and US size being different is argh. Would it be an idea if we made a compromise on the size and say 28x21? Because then could the Europeans in the swap cut the paper down to 28, and the US swappers could cut the other side down to 21 and we'd all end up with the same size without much trouble? Just a suggestion. I wish whoever decided that A4 sizes must be different in Europe and the USA would have used their brain... :p

I like the idea of the compromise of 28x21. I am going to change the size on the swap and let my one person already in the swap know. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I hope this makes it so more people will be able to join.

If you are US swapper you do not have to alter the size of your paper from the standered 81/2 x 11 that we use here in the US if you get me. All my recipes will be going into a plastic page holder and then into a notebook were I can make notes and keep them safe with out damaging the art.
