Swap Coordinator:hollychihuahua (contact)
Swap categories: Challenges  Themed  Art
Number of people in swap:13
Location:International
Type:Type 3: Package or craft
Last day to signup/drop:December 14, 2010
Date items must be sent by:February 9, 2011
Number of swap partners:1
Description:

Make some type of assemblage art shrine dedicated to one of the themes listed by your partner. (If you have no idea what I'm talking about, Google "assemblage art" or "altered shrine", and you should understand.) Send one shrine based on one theme to one partner. This swap is international. There's a USA only version here. This swap is time intensive, so don't sign up unless you can complete the project and mail on time. Please consider the cost of international shipping.

You may make, buy or find the parts for your art shrine, but the final result must be put together by you. The smallest acceptable size for the finished piece should be maybe the size of a 250 count matchbox or regular Altoids tin. I am not setting a maximum size. Use your imagination and think outside the box. Your shrine can be in a box, a tin, vase, bottle, picture frame, teacup, bowl, book, suitcase (lol) etc., etc. You can have doors or it can be open. What about shrines within shrines? Your final result should be 3D and should have multiple layers of stuff on it. There's a lot of creative freedom here and endless possibilities.

You must have a 4.9 rating with no unexplained low ratings. You must login the week of the signup deadline. You must have completed several Type 3 Craft & Packages swaps before and have been positively rated. These swaps must have major artistic components. No prior shrine or assemblage art experience necessary, but you do need to have prior experience doing artistic swaps. Unfortunately, if you are currently late on any swaps you're in (or haven't marked them as sent and it's past the send date), you will not be allowed to participate in this Assemblage Shrine Swap. I know these rules sound pretty tough, but if you don't qualify this time, just fix everything up for next time and I will welcome you.

You must list 10 possible themes around which your partner could build a shrine for you in the comments area below. Weird themes are ok, but if all of your potential themes are impossible, you will be banned from this swap. Try to pick themes people could realistically do. Produce a shrine that is quality work that you can be proud of and that you think your partner will like.

Ratings will be based on whether person produced a quality shrine (no sticker slapping!!!), centered around partner's theme, meeting minimum size requirement and mailed on time. Ratings are NOT based on whether recipient likes the result.

Questions? Please PM me.
