Anyone at Bible Study group is welcome to jump in the series of swaps for this study -

This is a study on the book of "Battlefield of the Mind" by Joyce Meyer. Please read the into, chapter 18 and 19 (Wilderness Mentality #3 and #4). Read the scripture below before answering questions:

Chapter 18

1. Read Deuteronomy 30:11

Why aren't God's commands too difficult for us?

2. Read John 14:16

A. When do things get hard?

B. The Holy Spirit is in us and with us all the time for what purpose?

3. Read Exodus 13:17; Hebrews 4:16

A. If you know God has asked you to do something, what should you do when things get hard?

B. Did entering the Promised Land mean no more battles for the Israelites?

4. Read Galatians 6:9; Luke 4:1-13

Why is it important that we not give up in the mind, lose heart, grow weary and faint?

5. Read 1 Peter 4:1,2

What secret concerning how to make it through difficult things and times does this passage teach us?

6. Read Philippians 4:12,13 AMP (in addition, read verse 13 in the New King James Version)

A. What does right thinking do for us?

B. If you are a whiner and a complainer, what should you do?

Chapter 19

1. Read 1 Peter 2:19,20

It is not suffering that glorifies God, but ___________________.

2. Read 1 Peter 2:21-23

How did Jesus endure suffering?

3. Read Ephesians 4:1,2

To the many people in the world who are trying to find God, what is more important than what we tell them?

4. Read Psalm 105:17-19; Genesis 39-50

Why was God eventually able to deliver and promote Joseph who was mistreated by his brothers and unjustly condemned to prison?

5. Read 1 Corinthians 10:9-11

A. How was Joseph different from the Israelites?

B. What was the difference between the Israelites and Jesus, our example?

6. Read Philippians 2:14,15

According to this passage, why are we to do all things without grumbling and faultfinding and complaining?

7. Read Philippians 4:6

A. What does Paul teach us in this verse about how to solve our problems?

B. What does the Word of God teach us to do during these times?

C. How can you overcome complaining?

Optional questions: Is there anything that you have read that you think is not consistent with scripture? / Is there anything you read that you don't understand?

You will have 4 weeks to read the 2 chapters and send your answers to your partners. Giving a longer due date since everyone is usually busy during Christmas. Please let me know if you have any questions.
