Description:

If the monthly girl thing makes you uncomfortable, don't be researching into this swap and get yourself offended. No drama wanted or needed, thanks.

We all love our dear red-headed aunt flo, dont we? And since there is nothing we can do about her, why not try to make her visiting experience a little more comfortable for us?

Thanks to all the interest I've gotten for this, this swap is international :)

You'll have 1 partner.

You will send them 5 of any of the following (first ask them for their preferences though):

  • tampons (one package from 8-20)!
  • pads (one package from 8-20)!
  • panty liners (one package from 8-20)!
  • instead (one package fom 4-8)!
  • tampon holder!
  • pill tin!
  • pad holder!
  • mini hot water bottle!
  • hot water bottle holder!
  • heating patch!
  • period tracking charts (1 year chart)!
  • your advice for keeping ones period as pleasant as humanly possible! (list 5-10 tips)
  • recipes (2 or 3)!
  • your partners preferred or favourite foods for that time!
  • a stuffed animal!
  • bubble bath!
  • bath salts!
  • eye mask!
  • throw blanket!
  • relaxing mixed cd!
  • other ideas?¿ let me know! I'd love to hear them and add them to the list!

Yes, stuff can be handmade like holders, stuffies, hot water bottle covers, charts.

Be as girly as possible and add extras to aim for hearts! Be proud to be a chick! Stick it in a cute, fancy little bag with a bow or something or wrap it up. Whatev.

For those with a 4.5 or more and no no-sends in the last 6 months. No newbies for this one either.

If you dont plan to rate your partner, please, dont join.

Also.. PLEASE do not send each other any types of medications or aspirins. It's dangerous, and I'm pretty sure customs wont like it either.

I love this idea. I vowed not to sign up for anymore swaps until I finish a few on my list, but I couldn't resist this one! Thanks!!

missvickieschips 10/ 4/2007 #

Thanks :)

It's set for March though, so you've got LOTS of time.

Mushwad 10/ 9/2007 #

I can't wait for this swap to start! I havn't had a 'visit' in over a year, (aparently breastfeeding somtimes stops it!), and I just started yesterday:( Too much info? :) sorry! I already have so many ideas. Plus I need a hot water bottle (hint hint) I used to have a heating pad, but lost it! (I cramp bad!) Sorry getting carried away! Too Excited!

Agnetha 10/22/2007 #

To my partner: Please no tampons (I don't use them), tea (don't drink it), bath salt (don't have a tub), pill tin (don't take any medications).

I do use pads and panty liners (normal to thin without wings). Wouldn't mind a water bottle as I have never seen one before. Chocolate is always welcome :) and any other surprises :)

Trying to have a baby so when aunt flo comes it's not that funny...maybe this will cheer me up!!

tayehuimin 10/27/2007 #

i wouldn't use a hot bottle holder cause i don't have any bottle. I don't take pills too. (:

Agnetha 10/27/2007 #

What is a hot bottle holder?? Something you put outside the bottle?? I have never used a bottle so I'm not even sure what it looks like. I use this rice pillow that you put into the micro owen to heat up...super!

CelestialFreak 10/29/2007 #

Some ideas I have for this swap...

eye masks (naps always help)

a throw blanket (sitting on the couch always helps)

A mix CD of comforting and relaxing music

missvickieschips 10/29/2007 #

Yeah, a hotwater bottle is like fabric or something sewn in the shape of the hot water bottle to fit over it. I bought one the other day and its fleecy, I love it.

a hot water bottle is usually a red, thigh rubber floppy thing that holds hot water in it. It's not easy to explain, but im sure if you google it there will be a zillion examples.

missvickieschips 10/29/2007 #

Just so you all know, I dont use pads. Ew. Haha. I have lots of tampons, mostly regular, so if my partner could get me o.bs ULTRA type (theyre in a purple box), or any other brand which are either supers or more.. and I already have a hot water bottle, though I would LOVE if someone can find one in the shape of a heart. I love pantiliners and the heatwraps. I'm looking forward to this swap again because the last partner I had sent me the most AMAZING package ever. It was so much more than I would have ever expected.

MrsQ 11/ 2/2007 #

I don't use either tampons or pads, so stuff to do with those wouldn't be very useful for me. (I love me my Keeper! The old-fashioned, less-sparkly version of the Diva Cup) I also don't really take baths often, though I wouldn't exactly refuse some nice bath stuff, either!

Another suggestion for the list: a funny book? Feel-good music to dance to?

hege 11/ 5/2007 #

I don't use tampons, don't have a bath tub and don't need a pill tin. I'd love tea and chocolate

lovedrunktears 11/15/2007 #

I don't use tampons, so please don't send them. Sorry. No bath salts and a pill tin. I would actually love a throw blanket (to keep me fuzzy)the most xD and a stuffed animal. :) I love tea and chocolate! :D Others would be fine and definitely welcomed, of course! Happy Swapping!! :D I can't wait!

kassrose 11/20/2007 #

Hey everyone!

This looks really awesome! Please don't send pads (I hate them), stuffed animals, or a hot water bottle cozy unless you're sending a hot water bottle too! Oh and I already have an awesome period tracking chart, so I dont need one, but will be sending one to my partner (if they don't mind!).

sarahsarah 11/27/2007 #

I would like a pill tin (just because I think a lot of them are cute), tampon holders (can be like a pencil case or something, just long enough to hold tampons with applicators), handmade stuffed animals, and hot water bottles/heating items/rice pillows. My lower back aches at that time. Comfy socks would be nice, too.

Please don't send pads or tampons, unless you can somehow find vintage packages of them (not that I'm going to use them--just collecting them as interesting artifacts).

vintageartchic 12/ 4/2007 #

At-last...the perfect GIRL SWAP! :)

I have very small curious little people lurking around so I would LOOOOOOVE some sort of clever pad holder (homemade or purchased) to conceal my "weapons"! I only wear pads-OVERNIGHT WITH WINGS.

Some type of throw blanket, or toasty bedroom slippers or socks would be nice as for some reason I get chills and can't seem to stay warm when Aunt Flo comes. (I wear a Size 10 shoe).

If you venture into the bath salts and bubble baths they must be organic as I am very sensitive (down under).

During that time I have to have either Hershey's Chocolate bars with nuts or Peanut M&M's. I also drink a lot of tea (to keep warm) or hot chocolate with marshmallows! A girly kinda mug for my tea and coffee would be a cool idea too.

What would be really nice is a cd with relaxing music or nature sounds.

I am a very girly girl so anything in the color pink would be safe! :)

For some reason I get a little solemn so something to make me laugh would be a GREAT pick me up! :) I love surprises so something that's not even on this list or the coordinators list would be exciting!

Thank you!

I would LOVE - a nicely designed period chart - eye mask - organic shower wash/bath stuff (I love LUSH products if they're not too expensive for you - Alkmaar is my favourite) - pill tin! (Don't take pills but if it's cute I could always use it for something else) - incense (but not strawberry or any kind of melon smells)

If you're sending actual menstrual products, I prefer - pads/tampons for medium to light flow (pads with wings) - panty liners are always good

Please no - hot water bottles/covers - wingless pads - scented pads/tampons - bath salts - stuffed animals.

I'm really sorry but I will be unable to send food/drink items or some of the heavier things like slippers and throw blankets, unless my partner is in Aus/NZ. I guess the same goes for the person who sends to me!

On that note, please don't send me food/drink items either, or things made of untreated wood, shells, plant material etc... customs will confiscate and we may both get into trouble!

I absolutely LOVE this swap. and I think I will host one for every few months because it seems to get a lot of attention and it's definitely a way to pamper your fellow chickies with sympathy and comfort gifts. I will be checking everyones profiles within the next month to be sure that people who have signed up are still active and not receiving a pileup of 1's.

SadieGunSlinger 12/27/2007 #

As I sit here hunched over in pain - I'm wishing I had this swap package right now!!

Please don't send me

  • Tampons
  • "Plasticy" pads (I only like the cotton ones)
  • stuffed animals
  • a hot water bottle holder w/out a hot water bottle (i dont have one!)

I'd love to get pretty much anything else ^-^

lw2dragonflies 12/28/2007 #

This is a wonderful swap! thanks for hosting!! No: tampons, i dont take pills, have a hot water bottle, and bummer i dont have a tub Yes: regular pads with wings (unscented), panty liners, heating patch, i have never had an eye mask-that would be really nice. any easy casserole recipes or such-anything my boys could eat when i am feeling not so well, a pad holder could be cute i have never seen anything like that, i love tea to warm me up- i especially like apple cinnamon varieties

Sage 01/ 6/2008 #

This is one of the best swap ideas...

The things that would be most useful for me from the list are tampons (Kotex is the brand I normally use), a tampon holder, a pill tin, a period tracking chart, recipes, and bubble bath.

Some of my own ideas: coffee, chocolate, good hot cocoa, mix tape (I have plenty of CDs <3) and hand/body lotion.

Yay! I can't wait to make and receive this swap.

TaraM84 01/ 9/2008 #

Can't wait for this swap to start!

I would love
* cloth pads (if my partner happens to be able to make them)
* funky patterned 100% cotton flannel material (so I can make my own cloth pads - the only flannel I can get here is childrens prints and plain colours)
* pad holder
* hot water bottle/cover/heating pad
* period tracking chart
* handmade stuffed animals
* throw blanket
* mixed CD's
* hot chocolate
* comfy but pretty panties

I'd prefer not to get

  • tampons (my body can't deal with them)
  • regular pads or panty liners (I use cloth ones)
  • pill tin (don't need it)
  • bath items (Don't have a bath!)
  • eye mask (I have a billion)
  • coffee (I don't drink it)
  • tea (I love it but it won't get past customs!)

Thanks!! :)

TaraM84 01/ 9/2008 #

ok, so my php markdown sucks... lol... whatever happened to html? :P

Amberly 01/13/2008 #

What a cute swap! Any of the following would be welcome:

-pads-overnight-any brand as long as it's unscented

-tea

-pill tin

-handmade stuffed animal

-anything chocolate (any but dark)

-socks (prefer ones with a leg, not ankle socks)

-surprise me!

Don't need (or want):

-coffee

-heating pad

-tampons

-bath products (make my own and have sensitive skin)

melissa 01/15/2008 #

Great swap! To my partner, please do not send disposable pads/tampons -- I use only cloth pads + a cup. If cloth pads are a problem, nice cotton panties (size 5) or plain cotton washcloths would be great! Oh, I love dark chocolate! And tea of all kinds. :)

Other than that, I'm really open to anything! I haven't had a period in a long time (breastfeeding), but according to my temps and fertility signs I'm due to begin up again -- so perfect timing!

missvickieschips 01/15/2008 #

I've sifted through the people who've joined and banned those who didnt meet requirements or people who havent logged on in forever. Partners should be hooked up for tomorrow. Enjoy!!!

Timeless63 01/15/2008 #

OK i am totally DONE with that thanks to my August hysterectomy. However, let me make a suggestion for you ladies who suffer. Check with your doctor first before trying this, but there is a wonderful herb you can buy in capsule form at the healthfood store called Dong Quai. It helps soooo much in mood and all. Also dont forget your 1,200 of calcium a day!

someone needs to have a menopause swap! lol

GingerThimble 01/15/2008 #

Love this swap!

Any of these would be welcome:

  • Pad Holder (I would looove one of these - so sick of DD finding mine in the nappy bag and pulling them out!)

  • Pads (Overnight w/ wings)

  • Chocolate

  • Coffee

  • Something to cuddle

  • Anything bath related or snuggle related

  • Charts

Pretty much anything, as long as it isn't tampons or tea! I'm very easy to please.

blytheswideshut 02/25/2008 #

Sorry for the late comment for my partner - anything you want to send it fine by me. The only thing I'm not into is tea - but if you send it I'll still appreciate the thought.

Thanks heaps.
