Description:

If like me your are a newbie when it comes to journalling then this swap is for you.

I have wanted to join so many journal swaps but due to never making one myself I was worried it would not be upto the same standard as everyone else therefore did not join.

This swap is for all you folk who have wanted to join journal swaps but have not due to being new at it or never having made one before.

You will take a journal/notebook can be store bought or handmade but decorate the front and back.

Then inside you need to fill at least 15 pages more if you wish but no less.

This is the fun part, what you fill them with is your choice, you can drawn, doodle, paint, embelish, write etc etc the possibilities are endless. Maybe your a writer, in that case you could look up journal prompts online and choose a few to write in the journal.

Like I said the choice is yours, be creative. But do not worry about this being perfect, this is likely to be our first journal for some of us.

If you are wanting to get a perfect, no mistake, blah blah bloody brilliant top of the line journal back then maybe this swap is not for you. We are newbie journallers and our journals just might reflect that.

I would ask to join this swap you have at least 10 ratings which are not email swaps.

Need a 4.7 to join. I will check all swappers before assigning partners.

You will have the whole of Feb to complete this journal.

Any questions feel free to ask.

EDIT - I realised i missed out sizings for the journal. That again is upto sender but i would say no smaller than 5in x 4in.

With the understanding that this is a newbie swap, how do you feel about experienced journallers joining? Not to intimidate or criticize, but to share and encourage and inspire!

Mysticsweetness 01/ 7/2011 #

I have no problem with experienced journallers joining just so long as they realise some of us are newbies at journalling.

I've done a few journals but never one like this with total freedom as to what to include so I'm in if that's all right? Great idea! If we buy a journal that has a really pretty hardback cover do we still need to decorate it? i.e. a cover that would be a shame to cover?

Mysticsweetness 01/ 7/2011 #

If you get a journal/notebook with an already decorated front and back then its fine to leave it. But don't sent anything that is plain. Its fine for you to join Gofeen. Have fun :-)

Can it be 15 pages front and back?

Mysticsweetness 01/ 7/2011 #

Yes it can be 15 pages front and back if you wish.

This is a great swap idea thanks for putting it up! You should also consider making a group specifically for journal swaps :)

Hihi, I've never make a journal before but have always been interested in one.. So just want to re-check again:

  • can I say that a journal for this is up to us to design ?
  • the theme is sender's choice ?
  • and we just have to decorate everything single pages in the journal ?

Sorry if I sounded silly, but just in case I mis-understood..

Mysticsweetness 01/20/2011 #

Journal design is upto sender. Make sure you send a decorated on the outside journal. Complete no less than 15 pages. More if you wish. Thanks for joining x

I've been making this over the past couple of days and having fun using different techniques I've seen on youtube. Lots of fun

Mysticsweetness 01/22/2011 #

I am almost complete in making mine, got around 5 more pages to go then finished. Im quite enjoying making it, each page is so different. Never realised it would weight so much either. Its like twice its weight :-( Yikes on the postage!!

dreamlily 01/23/2011 #

We should all post photos in the forums.

Mysticsweetness 01/24/2011 #

How about i set up a flickr group just for us Newbie Journallers?

gewalli 01/26/2011 #

I'm really new at making journals. What's supposed to be inside? Should I decorate it eg around the edges so my partner can write inside, or should I fill the pages with some journaling, and if so, what kind?

Mysticsweetness 01/26/2011 #

You fill the journal how you wish, art, painting, writing, quotes, anything and everything. You need to decorate the inside and out and send it to your partner.

gewalli 01/26/2011 #

Another question, does it have to be blank inside, or could it be lined?

Mysticsweetness 01/27/2011 #

Either

Mysticsweetness 01/27/2011 #

Check our flickr. Type in art journal for ideas. Your decorating inside and out so if your doin art it dont matter if lined or plain.

gewalli 01/27/2011 #
