Description:

Make some type of assemblage art shrine based on the theme "love". (If you have no idea what I'm talking about, Google "assemblage art" or "altered shrine", and you should understand.) Send one shrine to one partner. This swap is time intensive and international, so don't sign up unless you can complete the project and mail on time. Please also consider the cost of international shipping.

You may make, buy or find the parts for your art shrine, but the final result must be put together by you. The smallest acceptable size for the finished piece should be maybe the size of a 250 count matchbox or regular Altoids tin. I am not setting a maximum size. Use your imagination and think outside the box. Your shrine can be in a box, a tin, vase, bottle, picture frame, teacup, bowl, book, suitcase (lol) etc., etc. You can have doors or it can be open. What about shrines within shrines? Your final result should be 3D and should have multiple layers of stuff on it. There's a lot of creative freedom here and endless possibilities.

You must have a 4.9 rating with no unexplained low ratings. You must login the week of the signup deadline. You must have completed several Type 3 Craft & Packages swaps before and have been positively rated. These swaps must have major artistic components. No prior shrine or assemblage art experience necessary, but you do need to have prior experience doing artistic swaps. Unfortunately, if you are currently late on any swaps you're in (or haven't marked them as sent and it's past the send date), you will not be allowed to participate in this Assemblage Art Shrine Swap. I know these rules sound pretty tough, but if you don't qualify this time, just fix everything up for next time and I will welcome you.

This swap is sender's choice, but I encourage people to get creative with the theme, and I also encourage at least looking at your partner's profile. Think Valentines Day, St. Valentine, unrequited love, anti-love, romantic love, divine love, mother's love, famous love stories, Standing on the Side of Love, goddess of love, etc., etc. Produce a shrine that is quality work that you can be proud of and that you think your partner will like.

Ratings will be based on whether person produced a quality shrine (no sticker slapping!!!), centered around a "love" theme, meeting minimum size requirement and mailed on time. Ratings are NOT based on whether recipient likes the result. Please don't sign up for this swap if you think the parameters of this swap conflict with your beliefs, for example, if you would be uncomfy receiving something saint-based or religion based. I discourage attempts at religious conversion or preaching within this swap, but keep in mind that you might receive something religious from any religion or not, pagan, saint-based, sacred hearts, valentines-related, etc. If you're not ok with that, this swap is not for you. If you're in doubt about what your partner likes, feel free to PM him or her to get ideas.

I've listed the swap homepage as a blog entry I wrote about the amazing masterpiece Little Miss Messy at http://www.reveau.blogspot.com/ sent me based on the theme "religion". You'll see the picture if you go to the swap homepage above. This is just to give you an idea of what we should all aspire to create as far as interest, layers of stuff, artistic value, thought and effort, etc.

Questions? Please PM me.

If you want to get ideas, I'm blogging about projects from the other assemblage art shrine swaps that I hosted. Go to http://inkstainedthoughts.blogspot.com/search/label/shrines to see all of my blog entries on that topic.

Yikes, this could get pricey if its International... scrapkween, I may take you up on that offer.

I have almost finished mine and I don't think I want to give it away! I think I may have to make another one. I think the bot needs an art shrine group!
