Description:

UFO (Un-Finished Object) SWAP For Quilting and Sewing projects

What’s a UFO? A UFO is an UnFinished Object—a project you bought the fabric and pattern for, but never started. A wall hanging that is mostly together, but not quite, and you haven’t touched it in a few years. It’s those Christmas stockings you cut out but never made. It’s the set of fat quarters you bought but never did anything with. It’s a baby quilt top you created but don’t have the motivation to quilt...get the idea?

UFOs clog the creative brain pipes—they create guilt that builds as time goes on, keeping us from our favorite hobbies of quilting and sewing. They drain motivation! Sometimes it’s best to count your losses and start anew. One person’s UFO is another person’s treasure!! Clean out those old projects and receive something to complete, just in time for Christmas. Who knows, maybe the UFO you receive will become a present for someone on your list.

The UFO you send must be a project that anyone can finish and enjoy (i.e. clothing is usually one size, so a clothing project would not apply, but a tote bag or a wallhanging would). No project size limits. An entire quilt is permissible, as is a small sewing project. Projects must be given with no strings attached...and no one has to finish UFOs, though it would be neat to post pictures so the previous owners can see their finished projects.

I would like to leave the parameters semi-open. If you purchased a set of coordinating fabrics, and you’ve never quite found the project for them, I’ll consider that a UFO. If you’ve purchased a kit and never completed it, definite UFO. Half-finished projects, EXTREME UFO. Let’s say the project should have a worth of at least $15.00 (in fabric, pattern and/or supplies). BUT, please keep in mind, if you send out a $50.00 UFO, and receive a $15.00 value UFO, you were warned. No hard feelings! One must be able to LET GO and send the project to a new home with a giving spirit.

This swap is open to anyone worldwide—so keep in mind that you may end up shipping internationally.

Interesting swap. I have many many UFOs lying around here. I'll think about it, but I'm thinking I'll join...

I was recently re-organizing my quilting supplies, I have some UFOs that will never ever be completed so I'm thrilled to send them along to a good home via this swap. They're really nice fabrics that I received as a gift from someone with extremely different taste, and I know that they will inspire someone else to be creative.

I just wanted to let whoever had my name know that I have been in Florida since Oct. 27 so have not seen my package yet - I return to Ottawa Nov. 21 and will contact you shortly thereafter. Thx! Tassy

Just in case any of the people involved in this swap ever check back here, please note that I never received anything from "nanda".
