Soooo.... I don't know if is there anyone who studies Japanese out there, but I will give a try.... The swap is very simple: you have 1 partner, try to write her/him a short letter in Japanese. I won't give minimum lenght, I know how difficult it is (I think it will take me 2 days to write a page...); just make it decent, please. As it's for students, please include furigana (ie: small hiragana transcription) for the kanjis you use. If anyone from Japan wants to join us, s/he will be very very welcome! Please just keep in mind you probably won't receive a perfect Japanese-written letter, as this swap is intended for people who still are learning your language! Nothing else comes to my mind right now, but please ask if you have any questions or if you think we can make this swap better.

Thanks for mentioning to include furigana. I know that I like to see kanji but need the furigana as a safety net.

If any Japanese pen pals want to join and are studying another foreign language, I'm willing to receive/write in French/Spanish/English if they want to join in but want to work on their studies, too.

But they'd have to make a post here or mention in their profile that they want to receive a letter in any of those languages if they get a partner who can do so.

That's a good idea, this way the Japanese person would be able to practice thelanguage s/he is studying as well; I'm a bit doubtful about us writing in English or in our language, but we can talk about that if someone from Japan will ask! =)

@Francy0212 - Yeah, me, too. But I thought in case they get a partner who wants to receive Japanese, if the person that got them could write in the language they're studying, maybe it would make it more appealing.

Though it just sounds all complicated, lol.

DEAR ALL, as someone will be lucky enough to be writing to and another person will be lucky enough to receive from a Japanese person, and this person is currently studying English, it would be very nice of you write her in Japanese with English translation; she will be writing both in Japanese and English as well, so it would be nice if you receive from her to check (as far you can) her English.

I'll be contacting her partners after the matching anyway =)

O_O My Japanese is so poor~! It means it's a perfect swap for me, isn't it? After all, writing a real letter and receiving a real letter isn't just like a normal lesson (I'm a self-learner)

i think it is! =) This is students-based, as we all are studying a difficult language, I think it can be very useful to have the chance to use a bit of it in "real life"... even if just for a swap!
