ATC's CHALLENGE

Yeay! I love reading people's profiles so should be fun! I have been flaked on with 1 partner swaps a few times... not nice, so hope the lovely people who sign up take the commitment seriously!

(1)Do the ATC's have to be made with info gathered soley from our partner's profile?

(2)Can we Swap-Bot and prvt msg our partner and ask them questions to get more informatio to use as a basis for making their ATC's?

(3)If when we get our partner's info it includes a blog address, I have gotten such info before in swaps so it does happen sometime, can we cruise the blog to gather intell for the ATC's as well?

Silly questions, but if I tought of them I know someone else has and just didn't ask.

Okay, I admit, I'm totally clueless. I've never heard of "ATC" before joining this site. I've figured out that it means "artist trading cards" and that they are handmade. Can somebody please give me an idea of what they are, what they look like, what size they are, how they are made, etc., etc., etc.... Thanks!

In a sense they are 2.5" by 3.5" artworks. They can be painted or constructed in any number of ways. The simpliest form, and JMHO therefore the easiest to start with, is a basic mini scrapbook page type. You can use stickers, glitter, pictures, crayons, markers, and any number of things. If you have a flicker account use "swap-bot" and/or "swap-bot atc" as search terms for pictures, and it'll bring up pictures of atc's for you to view.

Hi all, I was going to join but noticed that the coordinator of this swap -doesnt have a completed profile -is behind on swaps -has 2 no-sends does that mean she will ban herself?????

I'm totally new to ATC's!! But I am soo excited to put my all into them. I think I see an addiction coming on :-)

This swap starts tomorrow and I'm a little concerned. After reading the comment above, I popped over to justbreathe's place. It does appear that something has gone wrong. It's not that she doesn't have a complete profile -- there's nothing there.

I'm kinda new around here so I don't know what to do. I love the idea for this swap, but I still take a lot of time to make ATCs and I'd really like to be confident in the swap before I commit to making 4.

What is the protocol for this kind of thing? If I don't hear from somebody, I think I'll drop before the deadline :(

PS: ladymarmalade doesn't appear to have any info either -- is there something wrong with the system?

I had a look at both: justbreathe (the host for this swap) has been in 61 swaps yet no details in profile at all, and 2 no-sends ladymarmalade seems to be a new member, no swaps done or signed up for yet?

I just checked justbreathe's profile and there are several comments relating to her apparent depression. . .her blue and white swap had issues with partner assignments and she has not been online, at least here, since the 4th. I'm probably going to drop this. . .sigh. Such a sad situation.

Ok, I just wrote Rachel and asked if I could take over hosting if justbreathe could not be contacted. She's said on the forums before that that can be done, so here's hoping.

That would be great if you can take over, crweixelman... theis swap is a great idea, and 61 people have their names down!

Has the coordinator been changed yet? I see the "drop swap" option is gone - but I don't see that partners have been assigned either. Any thoughts?

I was so excited for this swap too! I hope justbreathe ccomes back, or that the swap is transfered.

I wonder what happened to her profile. She used to have one filled out. Her 1 ratings are fairly recent. Oh man, I hope she's ok. I may hop over to the forums and check to see if I can find any info on her.

Also, are there guidelines on kind of media or is that open? Is digital ok for part of it? Thanx.

Haven't received my ATC's yet. Haven't rated, because according to her profile there has been some problems with her mail. Left her a comment on her profile page, but have no response as of yet. So, I will wait.
