Description:

Prims or Primitive dolls are wonderful. This month we will make one Prim doll for our one partner. Prim dolls often have a simplistic, vintage look to them. Many are made from scraps, can often be tea dyed, coffee dyed, or dyed with some secret concoction of cinnamon, coffee and......., can use clean recycled materials like fabric scraps as fillers or stuffing, and are some times stuffed with dried flowers or foods, like lavender or beans. Prims were often hand sewed and some still are,( though most I see now a days are machine stitched), made with what was on hand, and then loved for ages.

Here are some examples of prims: rabbithollowprims

Cartbeofrethehorse One of my favorites!

Sender's choice on subject, just as long it is a Prim. Your doll can be any size over 4 inches. Have fun.

You may want to make two, one for yourself and one for your partner. :)

Just wondering. I've been looking through pictures of prims. Some are stuffed, but some seem to be painted wood - does it matter for this swap? I'm not sure I would do a wood doll, but there were some really interesting "shelf sitters" that piqued my interest.

Yes, thye shelf sitters can be prim and they can be wooden, though they usually have some sort of material somewhere (like over a base), but that is completely up to you on how you make your prim doll. Here is a totally cuite one.
