Description:

I am going out of my own comfort zone a little bit on this one and I hope you will all join in. Each swapper will have one partner and to that partner you will send 1 mixed media collage that is appoximately 4X6 and based on the quote:

"Look Deep Into Nature and Then You Will Understand Everything Better" Albert Einstein

You can draw on nature as a broad theme or pick one of your favorite things in nature: flowers/birds/trees etc. Nature is so inspiring it's hard not to find something that gets your creative juices flowing. You do not need to add a hanger to this one..your partner may wish to frame or otherwise display it.

You can use papers, cloth, paint, bits of metal, beads etc. As long as everything is attached well. If these "themed" swaps work out I will host others. No recent no sends or 1's...no flaking. I think it's time to branch out a bit and try some new things...this one is new for me and I hope you will give it a whirl :) The lovely swap photo is by artist Julie King.

I LOVE this idea! I think it would be really cool to make the collages gothic arch shaped, as a lot of people do swaps of that kind. If you're interested, I have permission to share this template with you from Julie Howell:

I just finished a gothic arch swap with another group using birds. Here is a link to my blog if you would like to see how they turned out. These were so much fun and I was really pleased with how they turned out. http://whencreativityhappens.blogspot.com/2011/04/gothic-arches-birds.html

Do we use cardboard or canvas as the base? Or anything goes? Looking forward to this one!
