Date items must be sent by:December 1, 2007
Number of swap partners:2
Description:

This swap is for SMALL pieces of fabrics -- for making a scrap style quilt.

You'll send your TWO partner 10 different pieces of fabric sized at least 4 x 4 inches to 6 x 6 inches EACH. Each piece of fabric should be different.

(This means you will send 10 pieces of fabric the right size to 2 different people. No repeating fabrics to one person but of course you could send the same fabrics to each of your partners).

Send only COTTONS (fit for quilting) and try to stay away from novelty prints (unless your partner asks for them, send no more than 4 novelty prints).

If you are looking for certain colors of fabric for a themed quilt then post that in the COMMENTS. Before you send PLEASE check the comments to see if your partner has a preference. You don't have to send just the colors she specifies but please try to do so if you can.

I will check to be sure you have a reasonable rating. I'm not going to autoban you if you have had some trouble in the past as long as your rating illustrate that you are a reliable swapper.

Any color is okay. I especially like Jenny Beyer type blending fabrics and also fabrics in very bright colors with simple geometriocs like dots or stripes or swirls.

I have a wide variety of traditional fabrics in my stash, and lots of novelty I-Spy fabrics. Be sure to put your color and design preferences in your profile, so I can send exactly what you'd like!

Right now I'm looking for realistic animals for a kid's I-Spy quilt, some WOC (White on Cream) as backgrounds for a scrappy stars quilt, and I'm still collecting polkadots for a Tumbling Blocks quilt.

I don't care for pinks or blues, or flowery designs. Other than that I'm sure to enjoy anything from your stash.

I'm working on my charm quilt and I'd really like to recieve 5" or 6" squares for that. Blues and purples and greens are always my favorites, but other colors would be fine, too. I'm not crazy about novelty prints.

I'd prefer 6"x6" squares, but other smaller sizes are welcome to use for paper piecing or cornerstones. I do like BRIGHTS, and BATIKS of any type are fabulous. I'm sorting through my stash now, but am impatient to be assigned my swap partners so that I can start selecting fabrics.

Either size is alright. I am looking for some darker colors such as browns, blues, greens, golds or tans. I am working on doll quilts and would prefer smaller prints. I'd prefer no batiks as they are difficult to hand quilt through.

I would prefer 5x5 or 6x6 size pieces. Please use my colors as a suggestion and don't worry if you don't have these already in your stash. COlor choices would be bright greens, aqua, light blues and reds. If you have any polka dots, I'd love them :)

I would love to have fabrics that are jungle animals, wolves, flamingo, flowers or bright colored prints. I do not need baby fabrics. Any size block would be appreciated.

I love fabric that is either pretty or funky...I'm also not a big fan of the color purple. Thank you :)

I would really love civil war reproductions in Red, White and Blue. I use them for Quilts of Valor and they are the only thing other than tone on tone greens that I ever seem to run out of. Other ideas are in my profile though.

I changed my mind :)

I want to make an xmas quilt -- so xmas green, red, white, or prints. THANKS!

Blenders are good too (in white/ivory shades).

Others are okay too of course but I don't need any baby fabric.

I like all colors but lately have been in the 'fall colors' mood. I could use more in the yellow or green family but love most anything. I am not a big fan of pastels.

I loooove paisleys--no florescent colors please. I'm not hard to please. But please send easy to handsew fabrics, if you send jean fabric please send the lighter weight jean or khaki since I'm still in the "stone age" of handsewing. Thank you! :)

vintageartchic 11/21/2007 #

I forgot to mention that I loooove hippie fabrics! Any 60's prints would make me twirl! :)

I am really excited about this swap! I can't wait to see who my partners are so that I can start getting fabrics ready for the particular swapper's tastes!

Received two nice "squishie" packages on this snowy weekend... All of the squares were sorted into my stash, with a few from each going directly into my active project which is an Around The World I-Spy quilt for my niece.

My boyfriend brought the mail upstairs while I was sewing. He laughed because I ripped open one of the packets, took out the fabrics, and immediately pressed and trimmed a square to include in my next row. Thanks for the fun swap!
