Is there a size requirement?

A dotee is a type of small handmade fabric doll ranging in size from 3-7 inches. They have a face, tail and hanger with no arms or legs. The tail and body of the doll may be decorated with various items like ribbons and beads. Dotee dolls were originally created by Dorothy Christian. Hope this helps.

I am intrigued by this little doll and don't know what to think of it quite yet. Hmmmm....... I love the idea of having something handmade which is so special to me. I think I would like it better if it had arms and legs, but I am still liking something about it.

you guys are funny! :) I was wondering why dotee dools don't have arms and legs, and why have tail? is it a alien? lol I am sure it's the cutest doll I have ever seen.

Dotee dolls are addictive, believe me. Over a couple of years I have made, collected and swapped 65 of them. So have fun they are so neat to make and designing them is too much fun. The first dotee doll was made by a woman in Australia and her name was Dot, thus dotee doll, it took off about 3 years ago and keeps coming back.

I have a question, do they have to have a face? Like eyes and a mouth? Or can there just be a head? Does the face have to look like the one in the picture (I've seen lots of them with similar faces), or can we create our own face?

I am surprised that 44 people signed up for this so far, yet there is very little on the net for swapping. I would love to have a round robin of 4 USA ladies to trade these dolls with. Round robins keep cycling with 4 or 5 ladies and you take one out and put one back in and send it on until it comes back again and again. I am pleased with how mine turned out as I never made them before and each has a name and personality description. Anyone interested in a robin?

I have a major problem!!! I just finished my first Dotee and it's going in the mail today. Could you tell me please...is there a Dotee's Anonymous???? I'm addicted big time thanks to this swap!
