Description:

This was originally being run by @stampmaz2000 I tried messaging her and I think others have as well I do not know if anyone else received a reply but it has been quite some time that we've all been waiting to continue on with the rest of the alphabet. I hope everything is okay with her and if she returns to swap-bot she can of course resume doing this herself. But I know I am excited to continue and I know others are too.

This will be run as a series of atc swaps every few weeks in order to collect an entire alphabet of atc's. The theme is based on Edward Gorey's Alphabet from his book "The Gashlycrumb TiniesÒ€. It is a morbid little book about dead children. You can see the entire alphabet here: http://www.fuddytv.com/blog/books/edward-gorey-and-his-alphabet/

This swap is the sixth in the series and is based onG: Gis for George smothered under a rug.

You should have the words of the poem on your atc so that when our collections are finished they can be read as a set. So for this one you will have the words: G: G is for George smothered under a rug.

Please do not print Edward Goreys illustrations out and stick them on card. This is your own interpretation on the words of the poem and it does not have to follow the aesthetic of Goreys illustrations. Hand drawing, Collage, You can use any medium but make it really special. Also the atc must not have just the words of the poem on a background, it must have some kind of image depicting the event. So the words can be tiny because the artwork is the most important part.

1 Atc for 1 partner. If you want to collect the entire alphabet you need to sign up to each individual swap, which I will list as the swap progresses. This also means that you can make your atc's in advance if you want.

I will ban anyone who has a bad rating and you must have completed at least 5 atc swaps prior to this. It is just too disappointing to not receive a swap. If anyone has any questions please let me know:) Have fun!

I've been trying to contact stampmaz2000 to continue this, too - thanks for being faster than me!

Holy crap. This is awesome, wish I had been around for these earlier!

I totally did this once in an art class! It will be awesome to make ATCs of this book. Catch up afterwards? XD

I am excited but not qualified, I am a newbie! I look forward to participating later! I love Gorey.

I am not sure if I can join, because I am already at my limit for swaps and the signup date is already tomorrow. Anyway you can extend the signup date?

@BambooPandathirteen Thanks for hosting!:)

I with alot of other swappers have been wondering what happened to the original host. Some of us have sent PM's about continuing the series. I am sure if you extended the sign-up/deadline dates a little, you will get more swappers. You might also post it in the Forum to let everyone know.

@adrianaclara was going to offer a Gorey G-H ATC swap but when she heard this one was back up she canceled hers to sign up on yours. So to those of you I pm'd w/that announcement, I hope you have signed up for this swap. The more the merrier!:)
