Description:

Have you ever played Gardens of Time on facebook? This is a great hidden picture game. Or how about the search and find pictures in some of the puzzle books.

Go through a magazine and find a picture that is at least 6 x 6 inches but not larger than 8 x 11 inches. I have made several of these and found Rachel Ray, Good House Keeping, Family, and Red Book magazines really had great pictures. But you can use what ever you have.

The Base:
Find a picture of a kitchen, land scape, out door gathering of people, sports scene, etc. Should be a busy picture. Now glue the picture to cardboard.. I generally use old cerial boxes.
Next, Find at least 20 or more pictures that you can glue to your base as the items your partner will search for. (BEFORE... you glue them down, write down the list of pictures you have found, plus any object on the base picture that your partner will search for.) These little pictures you are gluing down.. do not have to be related to your base picture.
For example:.. Your base picture is a living room. and your small pictures you are adding might be, a deck of cards, a shovel, a plane. a mask, a head stone, etc. Some of your pictures might even overlap. Just keep it neat...

You will mail your partner your base picture plus the list of items they will search for.

This should be lots of fun and very inexpensive.

Swappers: You must have a 4.9 rating or higher. No 3's or 1's in the last 60 days. Your profile page needs to be filled out with at least 5 areas..
Please send your swap on time and rate your partner. :D

Is it possible to do the whole thing digitally, and print it out? Or should it be really cut and paste, not ctrl-c, ctrl-v?

Either way, great idea! I love Gardens of Time... :D

Emika, ... I'm thinking color is an important feature in this project. So if you are doing it digitally in color I think that would be acceptable as long as all guides mentioned are followed. Work needs to be yours and not a copy. Great Question! :D

Just finished my puzzle.. and found lots of my pictures...(items to search for) in store flyers, junk mail, and internet. These are so much fun..

I have a question. If you glue the main picture to cardboard and then glue the pictures to search for on top, won't they be raised therefore really easy to find? Like you could just run your hand across the surface and feel a picture raised from the base.

You could always wait to glue the main pic down.. and use slits in the paper to incorporate your pics. Finding the different things can be a challenge expecially when you are looking for a green apple on a green sofa or a white feather on a white cloud.. So it fun to hid the pics. Also I sprayed my picture with clear acrylic when I was done ...so feeling any edges won't be so easy.

I also thought and wondered if we could glue on more than 20 pictures. Some wouldn't be on the list. Is that OK?
