This swap seems to be catching on so here is another :) Thanks to everyone who participated last time around.

Who doesn't love a hand written letter? For this swap you will send 1 self-mailing letter (that means NO envelope is involved) to 3 partners introducing yourself. I found a website called Letterfu.com and they have designs and instructions on how to print out a template to mail. Im sure you can find more sites that have cool designs, if you would like to share it below in a comment, im sure everyone will appreciate it :) This is a really neat swap and the best part, its only one stamp and because of that, this swap will be open to International swappers as well (please note::for International partners its one .98 cent stamp)

This will be a newbie friendly swap :) Hope you guys join and if you have any questions or input, please feel free to contact me :)

Here are the instructions from the website and the link: http://www.letterfu.com/index.php

Step One: Print a Design onto a sheet of A4 or Letter paper from letterfu.com * Select a layout from the list of designs. * Take a blank sheet of A4 or Letter paper. When printing, MAKE SURE PAGE SCALING IS SET TO "NONE"! Otherwise, the fold won't work properly.**

Step Two: Write your letter * Write your letter on the unprinted side of the letter. Use a ballpoint pen if you have thin paper - it shows through the other side less. * Be creative! Doodle, and don't worry about keeping your writing in straight lines. Wild letters are much more fun to read.

Step Three: Address the letter * Write the address of the person you're sending the letter to on the letter before you fold it. * Write your own address on the reverse so that the letter can be sent back to you if it doesn't make it to your recipient.

Step Four: Fold the letter * Fold the letter up as per the instructions on the printed side. All of the folds are "mountain" folds (i.e. they all cover up the written side of the letter) with the exception of fold five, which is a "valley" fold.

Step Five: Stamp and Send! * Place a stamp across the diagonal edge on the front of the letter to help hold it closed. * Drop the letter in any letterbox!

I am not getting what A4 means.

Cool idea and I was trying to find this website again!

I like the idea of this swap, I didn't really see that many designs on the site, (unless I wasn't looking in the right place).

Is this swap open to newbies? I would really like to join this if thats ok?

tiffanymarieMA 06/30/2011 #

@Magickspirit51 Use the basic 8.5x11" paper or a sheet or a card-stock. I used card-stock since I didn't like the site's designs.

I participated in the last swap, so one tip I have is if you use card-stock, make it a very light color or print a template out on white paper first- otherwise you can't see the folding lines. P: I used the template idea.

@Magikspirit51 there isnt very many designs there :/ Im trying to work on some so I can post it up for you guys. You can use any paper you want and just use the templates to fold. :)

@littleredpixi It is open to newbies so please join :)

Must we use the templates from that website or can we use pre-made fold and mail stationery? I have some that I bought in a couple of cute designs, like this: Fold and Mail Stationery

Magickspirit51 07/ 2/2011 #

Thanks RedLucha, I have the concept now. I love this swap already.

Magickspirit51 07/ 2/2011 #

Thanks also tiffanymariaMA, I appreciate your help.

RedLucha 07/ 5/2011 #

@daftdabbler yes, you can use which ever template you like :) If you guys find different examples, please feel free to post them here :)

RedLucha 07/ 9/2011 #

Also, if you have commercial fold and mail items they are also ok to use :)

Is it okay to type the letter? I like to write somewhat longest letters. This would mean that I print one side with my letter and print the folding lines on the other side.
