Description:

This is basically an ATC but made of an altered rolodex card. This is a new fad that is starting and its so cool! You fill your rolodex with altered cards, you even alter the rolodex... i am including some links to examples below.

Swap: You will send 5 altered rolodex cards ( can be paper cut to fit a rolodex ) to one partner. Your art doesn't have to be flat, meaning it doesnt have to be just ink or paint on paper. it can have ribbons, sewing, stapling, tags, things that stick off the edges... it doesn't matter as long as it is a reasonable size. refer to links below.

*edit - recievers please let the sender know if you have a round or flat rolodex so they will know whether to lightly decorate the back of the card or not. If the reciever has a round file they may want the back decorated slightly so that it won't look bad when hanging upside down.

Please send consciencious work. Be kind and send something you would like to recieve. No flaking. I will Angel, but there shouldn't be a need. I will check profiles. No recent ones. No recent threes. Newbies welcome with a well filled out profile. These cards are senders choice so you can start them right away that's why there is a longer sign-up period. There is a shorter turn-around. Please don't sign-up if you can't fulfill the alotted cards in the time given.

Have fun!

I have been itching to try this - I make ATCs, inchies and etc. But how cool is it to have a built-in display system? Will begin scouring the thrift stores for a holder. I have one currently but it is my address book!

bamagrrl 08/10/2011 #

i have a flat rolodex and don't care if the back of the cards are decorated or not.

smmarrty 08/10/2011 #

Do you put artist info on the back? Like you do on ATCs?

sewcrazy 08/11/2011 #

If you had make your rolodex cards, you will need to punch the holes in the bottom to put them in the rolodex and you can get the little tool for that at any office supply store, I have been making these for about 3 years and they are a lot of fun, have fun and can't wait to get started!!!!!

So Fun! I have a flat rolodex but would like something on back if possible (it is visible). Thanks!

I have a flat rolodex, so alterations to the back are greatly welcomed.

I have a flat rolodex holder and I think it's great if you decorate the back as well. Thanks - I started these last week and I can't stop.

I just got my vintage rolodex off ebay and the cards for it are 5 inches by 3 inches. Some others I have seen seem to have smaller cards. Could you please tell me what size cards we should use?

deLux 08/18/2011 #

mandymo, they are generally 2 1/4 x 4"

LittleMessyMissy 08/18/2011 #

Does any one have a stencil that they would mind sharing?? :0)

CRaven 08/22/2011 #

In the comment above, you say the cards should be 2 1/4 x 4, but in your group the dimentions are 2 1/2 x 4. I'm confused!

Wingy 08/25/2011 #

i have a flat rolodex...

CRaven 08/27/2011 #

I loved doing this - just keep making them! I have a flat rolodex, but would appreciate lightly decorated backs. Thanks, Carol

I have a flat rolodex. I don't care either way if the backs are decorated or not (can't see 'em), but I would like yer name at least! Thank you <3!

I saw this in a book somewhere and have been wanting to try it ever since...how exciting. I have a round Rolodex at work that I haven't used since I got it on 2007 that I can use though I think I like the flat type as well. Any pros or cons for the round vs. flat?

scrapkween 08/30/2011 #
