Description:

This is my very first swap of this kind, so I am really looking forward to see the result of it. If it is a success I might make it a series with various themes along the way. So what is this swap all about?

You are to make one chunky page on steady cardboard, “4x”4 big, decorate the front with whatever you find suitable. The theme this time is to show your partner the craft you are best at. So if you sew, use fabric cutouts, pics of things you have sewn, thread, needles things you use for your sewing projects. I think you get the picture.

On the back you make a pretty background and add your name, age, and a small description of you and your craft. If you do not know what a chunky page is, go to flickr.com and search “chunky page” and a lot of different pages will show on your screen. Also you can find a good tutorial on how to make one here and an introduction here

I have allowed plenty of time for preparing and signing up so everybody should be able to make it ;-)

Absolutely no flaking or flakers will be tolerated, so if you are not up to making this swap in time, DO NOT JOIN. Unfortunately I do not have the resources to angel this swap, but hopefully it isn’t necessary either.

Please either post a comment or PM me if you have any questions.

I have just made my page.. spent a bit of time on it.. and now I realise - after it is finished - that it is too small. It should be 4.5 inches X 4 inches. The extra half an inch is to allow for binding into a book and should be left blank on the left hand side of the front. Is anyone going to mind if I add half an inch of card to the edge ? Or would you prefer I made a new one..?

I have no problem with the new size. However I am wondering if it should be poster board instead of cardboard?

Cardboard is strong enough.. it is after all, only 4inches x 4inches.. I use cardstock and glue paper to the back.. it is usually strong enough and what I am sticking to it doesn't weigh much !

Actually.. you can use whatever you want to use for a backing.. go for it.. be creative.. :)
