My Stamping Style

I Love stamping!! Fun and cute images are my style!! Right now, my tastes lean toward images from Kraftin' Kimmie Stampt, The Greeting Farm, Whiff of Joy, High Hopes, Whipper Snapper, Sparkle and Sprinkle, C.C. Designs, Stampendous, Hero Arts and so many more I can't even begin to name them all!

I much prefer red rubber stamps to clear stamps ... they just give me a clearer crisper image.

I like fairies quite a bit and any images that are renaissance theme - Princesses, Princes, castles, crowns, dragons etc. I also love cute Ladybugs!

Favorite Crafts

Rubber Stamping, Card Making, Paper Crafts and Jewelry Making are my passions. I have an entire room in my house as my dedicated Craft Studio! I have tons of stuff that I have hoarded over the years and I am trying to use what I have before I buy more stuff. That's not working as well as I would like, but I am using up oodles of paper that has just been sitting around forever!

I have been dubbed The Glitter Queen by my friends. I have more glitter in more colors and degrees of size than anyone I know! I am seriously talking over 50 colors and sizes in big tubs! I Love using it, but I don't need any more of it!

I think I'm part magpie - if it sparkles, I'm attracted to it.

I LOVE flat backed Rhinestones in all colors and sizes - you can never have enough!

I have recently started to make earrings and bracelets and love the sparkle of swarovski crystal beads and fire polished gems! Metal spacers in silver and seaglass are also among my favorite elements to work with.

I also dabble in scratchboard art and wood burning, but it isn't something I am as obsessed with as stamping or jewelry making.

About Me

I am happily married with two cats and a dog. I live in Southeast Wisconsin near the shores of Lake Michigan.

I have no children and do not really enjoy items with a (human) baby/child theme. It's just not my thing. Baby animals are cute - but that is about as far as I take it.

I worked for a Fragrance company based in Chicago for 12 years until I got laid off - I'm a graphic layout designer. (I design perfume cartons and bottle art) My work was mainly at Hot Topic, Torrid and various teen chain stores.

I am currently looking for a job as I am going back to college. I will got my bachelors degree in Psychology in December, 2012 and I am attending Alverno College to get my Masters in Counseling Psychology so I can help people attain mental well being, which I see as a very fulfilling career.

I believe in random acts of kindness, so don't be surprised if you get something from me out of the blue and you have never talked to me or swapped with me before - it just means that something in your profile inspired me and I wanted to reach out and give you some happiness :)

I don't do politics.

As far as religion goes, I find peace and joy in nature and animals.

Favorite Books

I Love the Twilight series - all four books. I love sparkly Vampires!

I have read all of the Harry Potter books, which I think are brilliant.

I like Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches series along with most of the Vampire Chronicles.

I am currently reading the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K. Hamilton - it is kind of an action romance series with dabbles of sarcasm and wit.

I have listened to a few of the audio books in the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlene Harris and quite enjoyed them.

Another really good series are the Harry Dresden books by Jim Butcher (He is the only practicing wizard in the phone book set in Chicago, Il.) and it mixes fantasy, humor and a bit of seriousness in a very engaging way.

Favorite Television

I really enjoy the following shows: Grimm, How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory, Bones, Psych, Project Runway and America's Next Top Model. My secret indulgences are the following reality shows: The Bachelor/Bachelorette, Bridezillas, My Fair Wedding and Toddlers in Tiaras.

Things I don't need

When I started seriously crafting in 1997 I thought I was a scrapbooker. I am not. I have albums galore (all shapes and sizes) and I never use them. I have taken all of my 12x12 paper and have started to use it in my cards since I will never make those scrapbooks that I was so gung-ho about all those years ago (Which gives me new supplies without going to the store - it's like shopping at home!) So I don't need anymore scrapbook albums.

I don't need or use stickers - I have a 12x12 drawer full of them that I haven't touched in over 10 years. Note to self - Start giving them away!!

I don't use things like photo corners or diecut printed images.

I don't use dimensional shaped plastic embellishments.

(Hmmm - I see an opportunity to pass it forward - As I am cleaning out my craft studio, I am finding that I have all these things that I never use that I can pass to those of you who may use them. I will start checking profiles of my partners more carefully - you may be surprised at the great stuff that I couldn't get rid of before that will now start filtering it's way to you!!)

My Favorite Things

If I do any swaps where this might be helpful, I thought you might want to know...

My Favorite:

Colors = Pink ... bright hot pink I love it by itself or matched with bright green.

Fall colors are the most fun for me so that would include red, yellow and orange together.

Burgundy and Forest Green together - they were my Wedding colors and they remind me of the end of fall and also Christmas.

Beach colors- blues, turquoises, pale pinks and sea greens ... if it brings to mind The Bahamas, then the colors are all right with me!

(I suppose the only color I really don't care for is grey - it is just so drab to me)

Gourmet Chocolate = Godiva Milk Chocolate with Raspberry or Hazlenut Filling

Chocolate = Baby Ruth, 5th Avenue, Butterfinger

Drink = Hot Chocolate, Chai Tea

Place = The Ocean - Particularly Caribbean Beaches ... I love Nassau Bahamas and Jamaica ... I collect Seashells from the beach - especially unusually shaped or unusual naturally colored shells, and my livingroom is decorated in a beach theme.

Animal = Cats (The cat in my profile Pic is my cat), Butterflies, Ladybugs, Tropical Fish, Dinosaurs ... OMG I LOVE Dinosaurs - I turn into a 4 year old when I see dino's - I love them!

Flower = Scottish Thistle, hibiscus, daylily, carnation, daisy

Food = Hawaiian Pizza, strawberries, cherries, raspberries, chinese food

Books= Supernatural romance novels - vampires are my favorite (as you probably already guessed).

I have pierced ears, no allergies to any metals, and to fit my wrist, a bracelet needs to measure 8-1/2 inches.
