Thanks for checking out my profile. My name is Emily and I'm still pretty new here, but have been happily busy with swaps, crafting/creating, and making new penpals every day since joining! I always send forth my best work, and if you do the same and are interested in private swaps, please let me know!
I'm a busy single mom of two teenagers. Kinda nerdy- love to read and learn, love classical music and going to the symphony. I listen to NPR, but no other radio or TV. I like many video games, especially RPGs that I can sink hours into. Love Tolkien and other fantasy writers. I don't use social media/facebook. I put pics of my mail on IG, but don't really "socialize" on it. I don't create or partake in drama of any sort. I do not get offended or angered much at all. I try to live mindfully and follow the Middle Way. I practice what I call "moderate minimalism", except when it comes to office and craft supplies LOL. If I could retire today, I would! I'd garden and read, and write, and draw, and sew, and paint, and just watch the clouds go by! But alas, I am only in my 40s and have plenty of workdays yet.... booo.
I always send, send on time, send my best work and rate when swaps are received. I would love the same from all of you! However, I know this is a site for having fun and being creative, so I'm not gonna stress over a few days. Just keep in touch, that's always best.
I have a postal scale and weigh my own envies. I have been an eBay seller since 1999 (yikes) and stay very familiar with USPS rates and regulations. With that said, if you receive postage due, I want to hear about it, not only to send you a surprise something, but to learn from my errors.Thank you!
I'm really easy to please as I have not been doing this long enough to have a lot of specific needs. However, here are a list of things I am fond of:
Non-touristy postcards. They just aren't my favorite
Letter paper/stationery and unused US stamps
Nice stickers, prefer not puffy though! They make my mail too thick!
Die cuts and punches (even just basic shapes)
Stamped images, interesting papers for collage
Vintage illustrations cut out from books, magazines
Rain, rainy days, rain imagery, stormy weather, clouds...
Animals, especially cats, owls, otters, llamas, bugs, bats, sheep, birds, ok basically all animals
Flowers, anything floral. Love daises, poppies, sunflowers
Plants and succulents- love imagery of potted plants and cacti. Love shamrocks/ four-leaf clovers
Butterflies, birds, dragonflies, anything that flies!
Celestial themed- sun, moon, stars, planets too!
Fantasy things- Dragons, fairies, gnomes, mermaids
Books, book related- pictures of books, bookmarks
Any Buddhist or Hindu images, ie Buddha, Shiva, Vishnu etc
Colors I'm not picky about at all! Love all color - you choose!
I don't really have any dislikes, but I do my very best to send "Happy" mail to people, and hope to receive the same! Like so many swaps say, send something you would like to receive!
