I'm a 20-something who lives by the beach in sunny Florida, works for a nonprofit and loves it! I was born and raised in Florida, so I have a fondness for Jimmy Buffett, pirates, saw palmettos, oranges and flip-flops and a dislike of sweaters, frost and people with out-of-state plates driving slowly in the left lane. (I also have a bit of a love for the cliche...)

Of course, I love to craft. I like to read - both fiction and nonfiction, and have become a bit of a political junkie lately. I also love to garden and am working on turning my brown thumb green. I just took up running, and will hopefully finish the "Couch to 5k" program in time to run the Gasparilla 5k.

I'm a big football fan - go Bucs. I also follow USF and UF, but pro is really my favorite. Although I've recently jumped on the Texas Tech bandwagon - Guns Up!

I have 2 black cats who are lazy and lovely and am currently bugging my fiance about a puppy. I also have a fiance, am getting married in Nov 2009, and am trying to make that as low-stress as possible.

I've developed a commitment to the environment in the last few years, and I try to do the 3 r's and lend time to the cause. I'm also trying to push myself to be more involved in my community in general, because I've come to believe that if everyone does this, we will all live in better places.

I've never been to into a specific type of music - I like most everything except metal and techno. A random list off my ipod: the Hold Steady, Amy Winehouse, Sublime, Dispatch, Jim Croce, Alice in Chains, Jewel, Tupac, Aesop Rock, & Kanye West.

Marginalized group bands together, overcomes odds. (Glory, Braveheart) 3. There is a rousing war speech. (Independence Day, Gettysburg, Gods And Generals) 4. Things explode, and there are guns. (Demolition Man, Escape From New York, Mystic River, Kung Fu Hustle) 5. Folks take control of their life by risking all. (Garden State, Boondock Saints, Rocky, Seabiscuit) 6. There is Dennis Leary. (Suicide Kings, The Sandlot, Demolition Man) 7. There is a large amount of gratuitous gore. (Sin City, Tarantino films, Scarface)

I like sewing, mostly simple projects as of late because I haven't found much time lately. I also knit (but not crochet). I am currently in holiday craft mode. I need to get back into resin work before it gets hot again. I tend to like really tiny, precise work (think seed beads and Perler bead mosaics) Really, I dabble in a bit of everything and my favorite part is learning something new.
