Hi, I'm a 27 year old union stagehand. Which means I work backstage at various theaters in my area. I am seeking inspiration to craft more with my limited time. I volunteer for a local theater as a costumer, and have been known to donate my time to random things that catch my interest and don't have rigid time requirements (I have a strange schedule) I welcome questions, feedback and suggestions.

I'm not much for country, pop or rap . I like lyrical music with a good beat. For me that covers everything from new age to electronica to death metal. Some of my favorite artists are Radiohead, Loreena McKennit, Rob Zombie, Jonathan Coulton, The Arogant Worms, The Beatles and Pink Martini. I work a lot of concerts so some of my taste in music is influenced by the reputation or attitude of the artists.

I enjoy cross-stitch and needlepoint to the extent that my roommate won't allow me to hang anything on the walls with out removing something first. I like to sew my own dresses and corsets. I make leather carnival masks which have had modest commercial success. I am also pretty good with the baking. All of my cakes are delicious though they may look disgusting. My hot glue gun skills are unparalleled. I would like to learn how to make books and paper and how to cook well. Pottery, mosaics, and resin art also hold appeal. I love taking craft classes.

I am an avid reader of science fiction. Favorite authors include Ursula K. LeGuin, Tim Powers, Alfred Bester, Orson Scott Card, Mary Doria Russel, Neil Gaiman, the list stretches on and on. I just finished The Omnivore's Dilemma based on a friend's recommendation.

I like things with monkeys and flames and retro things. I like strong colors and patterns and am not opposed to the utterly adorable. I love shiny things. Glitter=love. Everyone is lucky that I don't have a bedazzler. I am not easily offended, but I would not be the person to send your favorite religious tchotchkies(sp?)or political bumper stickers to. My favorite colors are orange, grey and teal. I like pirates that aren't of the carribean (marketing overload)
