About Me

I am retired and do a lot of volunteer work with the USO, Honor Flight and a local Food Bank.

In addition I enjoy doing paper crafts and sewing. I have gotten into Zendoodling and Copic Markers. I am not great in either, but working hard at it. I feel like I am becoming a hoarder of adult coloring books. I do color often and use the pages for envelopes, etc., just not at the same right I buy them.

Favorite Music

Most of the music I listen to is from the 60, 70, and 80's. Neil Diamond and The Beatles among my favorites.

Favorite Books

Love to read. Mostly mystery or thrillers, an occasional romance. Some favorite authors: James Patterson, Barbara Parker, Sue Grafton, Stuart Wood, Janet Evanovich.

I recently joined a local book club that is all about reading crime fiction. Right up my alley. Due to one of the books on the list I have just gotten into David Baldacci.

Favorite Television

Am a TV junkie. TV is on almost all the time whether watching or just for background noise. Some favorite programs: NCIS, Blacklist,Scandal, House of Cards, Mom, Modern Family, Big Bang Theory...... I could go on and on.

Favorite Movies

In addition to TV I love going to the movies. It is great watching a new movie in the theater with popcorn, surround sound and good friends. Some of my favorite movies include Gone with The Wind, Law Abiding Citizen, The Hangover (the original one only), The Words, Seven, Cape Fear, Imitation Game,Theory of Everything and Bridge of Spies.

Favorite Crafts

I do paper crafts and sew. I find myself sometimes seeking/shopping/collecting supplies more than using them. I do like unusual scrapbook paper. I also sometimes make fabric postcards, so I like small amounts of fabric that has a cool pattern or designs that can be appliquéd for special event postcards (birthday, holidays or special interest- i.e. books, birds, boats, trees, etc.)

Craft: Unusual scrap book paper, Markers, Washi tape- any colors and patterns. Handmade cards, post cards, Cute Stickers (one dimensional that will go through postal system without additional handling) Favorite Colors: Reds and purples- but need yellows, pinks and blues for my stash. Postcards- Any are fine. I do not collect any particular kind or style. I just like happy mail!

Nothing religous in theme, Disney, Hello Kitty or Kawaii please. Nothing with glitter. I prefer my coloring pages not to be folded when possible and not to have words. (weird, I know- I just do not like reading my coloring pages)

I really do not collect anything specific. I like handmade postcards or cards to see what people come up with and the different techniques. I prefer my postcards to be sent naked, but am fine with whatever the swap details say. I like when the artist includes what methods they use if the item is somewhat unique in textures/textiles- mixed media, etc.

Anything anyone takes the time and effort to send to me will be appreciated and used. This should be fun so I don't want anyone to stress over their items or what rating they might get from me.

Food: Milk Chocolate, Caramel, Salty snacks No teas or coffee, please

I send my swaps on time and always wait to mark sent until I return home from the post office. And I always take my swaps to the post office just to reduce the overall numbers of times it is handled and possibly lost.

I also rate the same day I received. While I do travel frequently I try to time my swaps around it so that my partners are not waiting a week for me to return.

On occasion I have not selected the "save ratings" button. If you feel I should have received your item and not rated, please do not hesitate to PM me. I know what it is like to worry whether things are lost in the mail. In return I would hope for the same courtesy. When I PM asking about a swap, it seems only right that the person responds promptly by either rating or PM'ing that they have not received my item.

Comment: Hi Cheryl, Yes I am always looking for new postcard designs also and have never saw one like this, so cool!! In all of the swaps I have never seen a duplicate card except I liked one so much I duplicated one that was sent to me. Where do you get your coloring envelopes? So nice. Thanks for this one to color and send on! :)
Response: For my coloring envelopes I just use a page out of a coloring book. Some I have colored and some not. Lately I have also bee using old calendars. Trying to clear out some of my "stuff" and actually use it. Next card is on its way.

Comment: Hi Cheryl! Thank you for the lovely colored pc! You did a great job on it and I am a tad jealous, as I try but am not the greatest colorer - but I do enjoy doing it! We had a big storm roll through were I was yesterday - driving home in it was so scary, but thankfully all worked out! Today has been cloudy with the sun peeking out now and again - sigh! Thanks for joining the swap and for the lovely Happy Mail! Hugs and Happy Swapping! ;)
Response: Thanks for the kind words and rating. Enjoying doing it, is really all that matters! We had more storms here too. Poor guys in Rolling Thunder on Sunday were soaking wet!

Comment: Thank you for the beautiful bright yellow postcard! I just love your dandelion puffs and might try it myself!
Response: Thanks for the nice comments. Just be sure to actually rubber-band the Q-tips. It is hard to just hold them together although it is tempting.
