My name is Dottie and I have been married to my high school sweetheart since 1974. We enjoy growing old together. The Lord blessed us with 1 son...who in turn has blessed us with a daughter-in-love, 1 precious and beautiful granddaughter (the "princess") and 3 handsome and wonderful grandsons.I love my family and suffer from "nett" (not enough time together).
The thing that amazes me the most is how Christ loved me (a wicked sinner) so much that He gave His life so I can spend eternity in Heaven. The thing that excites me the most is that He did that for EVERYONE.....and everyone can receive the gift of eternal life if they will trust ONLY him as their payment for sin. Many attempt to trust their good works; but redemption is only through the blood of Christ.
Wow, I love all crafts...I can crochet and macrame...but mostly enjoy trying unique and non traditional crafts from "stuff". I am not the most creative, but I can copy and come up with "extras" once the framework is laid.
I do bake and decorate cakes including wedding cakes...getting a little too old though..the eyesight is failing on the tiny detail work.
Would rather read a cookbook than a novel. Cooking is my therapy. Love to cook for others.
I teach Jr. High Sunday School Girls and I am always trying to come up with unique gifts for them. Girls that age need to know someone loves and cares enough about them to make them feel special in a healthy way.
My name is Dottie so I am always looking for "Dots" to wear...be it clothing or accessories.
I love things that say J0Y which reminds me where true JOY comes from......by putting J esus first O thers next Y ourself last
I am at my best when I am thinking of others.
I work full time in a medical office and love it.
I collect cookie jars, thimbles, mugs, pretty handkerchiefs, buttons, DUST :) and friends!
Like flavored coffee and tea...not much for soda. Dislike Shrimp :( Really DO like any kind of cheese or nuts (of which I am one) Not crazy about chocolate...except for See's milk chocolates mmmmmmm Like Jelly Belly's
I like all things "foo-foo" (my husband's description) which means.....lampshades with beads or feathers, handkerchiefs with crochet or tatting, ink pens with jewels, flavored coffee with whipped cream, socks with bells, picture frames with buttons....you get the idea! EMBELLISHED!
Love an old fashioned snuggle by the fire on a snowy day (wish we had more snow here)
Absolutely LOVE spending time with my granddaughter! She is a special young lady to me!
My favorite book is the King James Bible and every promise in The Book is mine.
Enjoy Louisa May Alcott and Janette Oke
Favorite Music is Traditional Hymns and beautiful Christmas music. Really enjoy music by Carol Roberson ...he sings Christian music (sounds a lot like Elvis...yes I am also an Elvis fan)
Not too much TV..except food network and DIY
Please nothing Witchcraft or Astrology
I dislike/detest people who hurt children physically or emotionally! I dislike shrimp. I dislike/despise cigarette smoke! I'm new at Swap-bot and I can already tell that even worse than flakers are folks who flake on rating. I guess my grandma instilled that. We had a rule in our home that we were not allowed to use, play with, spend, etc a gift we received until a thank you note was sent (ie rating given). It's so rewarding to hear from someone that receives something from you....especially after you work so hard at trying to send them something "just right" for them. Somehow the delivery confirmation from the post office doesn't quite suffice.
