I am a wife of a science teacher and mother of two wonderful boys.... one "across the pond" and one in college in NY state ... I am in Oregon ... too far away from my darling boys. New empty nester throwing myself into quilting, crafting and other adventures. I love traveling ... which actually came about prior to my children leaving home ... continues afterwards as well. Paris is my favorite city ever ... Love NYC as well. Have an affinity for Philadelphia since my oldest lived there for seven years. Visited my son and his fiance in London recently and have developed a love for London as well. I guess I just love to travel, huh? I love bright, bold colors. Pink has always been one of my favorite colors as well as purple, but my house is decorated in burgandy, blue and beige! No pets for me ... done my pet thing ... don't want to be tied down in case I have enough money for a plane ticket somewhere! I love all things Disney as well.... gosh, could go on forever. I love shopping, visiting the zoo, traveling, reading, crafting, and surfing the net for new crafty ideas! I love vintage things as well... old aprons, pincushions! I have a couple of aprons my grandmother made in the 50's! Love them.
My oldest is a guitar player, singer and actor. Love all music, but especially my own son's! He has a beautiful, velvety voice ... current groups I love are Train, One Republic, KT Tunstell, Corinne Bailey Rae, Janelle Monae, Lifehouse, Bruno Mars, Matt Nathanson, and my old favorites ... Hall and Oates, Steely Dan, etc., etc.!
Watch a lot of BBC shows on Netflix: Waking the Dead, Wire in the Blood, MI-5 (hmmm, these are all crime dramas!) Also love Dexter, The Tudors, Sons of Anarchy ... new fav is Coupling ... another BBC show! Also love Big Bang Theory! So funny. (My hubby is a science teacher!!!)
I love quilting ... I make kaleidoscopes a lot ... but am now loving X-Blocks and wonky stars. I admire everyone's "oh so creative quilts" though as I am a pattern follower. I am not very creative, but can follow a pattern really well. I love to read blogs as I find so many inspiring ideas I would love to try, but just don't have the ideas in my own head! I've started making mug rugs lately and am saving selvages to make a selvage quilt someday. I am also learning to dye fabrics, which I love! I garden a little ... shop a little, walk a lot, trying vegan cooking .... I like to try new things. I'm learning to make purses too! It is challenging but fun!
So, I'm just adding this cuz I can .... I love to travel, love anything travel related! Just thought you should know!
