About Me

I'm a Floridian in Michigan studying the psychological effects of video games. I have two cats who are about as graceful as hippos but make up for it in adorableness. I love cows, but refuse to tell my mother because all I would receive at Christmas would be cow collectibles.

I'm new to swapping, but excited to start taking part in it!

Favorite Music

I've seen the band Flogging Molly more than a dozen times. I also love pop music, Americana, punk, rock . . . basically anything but jazz.

Favorite Television

My all-time favorites are ANYTHING by Joss Whedon and Pinky and the Brain.

I also

Favorite Books

As far as literature goes, my favorite book is "Love in the Time of Cholera," by Gabriel García Márquez.

For brain candy, my favorite book is "Blue Moon Rising" by Simon R. Green for many reasons, not the least of which is that one of the main characters is Princess Julia.

My favorite authors are Simon R. Green, Charlaine Harris, Carl Hiaason, and Neil Gaiman.

Favorite Crafts

I'm interested in nearly all things handmade, but have only learned embroidery, micro-macrame and beading. I am a fairly decent amateur photographer, too. One day, I hope to also conquer a sewing machine, tatting, and knitting.

Hobbies

I love to travel, partly for the beautiful photographs but more for the food. Although I've been to 13 countries, I recently realized that the more I travel, the less I've seen in the world.

I would be an avid video gamer if I had more time.

I'm a beginning runner and currently training for a 10K. I run very slowly.

I'm a baking perfectionist, who throws out anything that is less than perfect tasting. I don't really care how things look, though.

I enjoy tennis, racquetball, bowling, softball, and mini-golf. If knowing the rules and endless enthusiasm count for 90% of talent, then all I'm lacking is athletic skills.

Comment: I absolutely LOVE my sailor girl!! Thank you so much, she's so beautifully stitched and I love that she's on a tea towel! My favorite part is you painted her toe nails- such attention to detail! : )
Response: I'm glad you like her! I love doing pinups and had a lot of fun with her. Her mani/pedi was my favorite part, too!

Comment: Wow! What an amazing job you did on this lovely lady. I've never seen satin stitching that good, it looks like it was done by a machine! And the stitches are so tiny and precise. You're right, the pattern is very summery. Thanks, I love it!
Response: I'm so pleased that you liked it! I had a lot of fun working on it . . . even the tires which seemed to take forever. :-)
